Rep. Jason Chaffetz is giving CNN kudos for the work of one of the network’s reporters. This entry is a continuation of this post from just a couple hours earlier. In short, CNN reporter Arwa Damon spent two hours interviewing a ‘lead suspect’ in the Benghazi attack. This morning, CNN’s John King mentioned it but didn’t name the suspect; White House press secretary was later asked about it; then King was back on CNN and divulged the name of the suspect he referred to earlier – Ahmed Abu Khattala.
Later, on CNN’s Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, Damon reported on her interview with Khattala and reiterated how easy it was to contact him.
Shortly after that report, Blitzer interviewed Chaffetz:
If an argument can be made against Rep. Frank Wolf’s HR-36, which calls for a Select Committee to investigate Benghazi, the likelihood that Chaffetz won’t be on that committee is one such argument.
