At least 265 copies of Anne Frank’s Diary, and other books on Anne Frank, have been found ripped apart and destroyed in 31 libraries across Tokyo, in Japan.
The deplorable vandalism is no isolated incident, the amount of books damaged and the number of libraries in which it was done attests to this. It is an evidence as to a rise in antisemitism in Japan, and its quite interesting that this is occurring at a time when numerous of Japan’s politicians, including its Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, have been denying and supporting the rape of Chinese women that Japanese imperialist soldiers committed, and outrightly denying the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Chinese people in the horrific Massacre of Nanking.
That this significant rise in antisemitism in Japan is happening at the same as Japan’s attempt in reviving its imperialist empire, is no coincidence. Lets not forget, that during WW2, Japan was an ally to the Nazis and gave lethal and protective support to the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, in his fight against the British empire, and this alliance was substantially a result of Japan’s hatred toward the Jews, and to Zionism.
The vandalism toward books from and on the Holocaust in Japan, is only a reflection of the evil and subtly and growing hitlerian government of Japan.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga called the defacing of the books “shameful”, but this is only lip service. It was this same Suga who refused to condemn the statements of Naoki Hyakuta, who was appointed by Shinzo Abe, in which he denied the mass rapes committed by the imperial Japanese army in China.
I wrote an extensive article on Japan’s attempt in reviving its empire, which can be read here.
