A man walked into a radio station and demanded they play a song from the group Insane Clown Posse. When they refused he pulled out a beer and drank it, snorted something in a bag, then pulled out a machete and threatened to cut himself to death in the studio:
A man who arrived at a radio station in Massachusetts armed to request a song has been arrested following a three-hour standoff with police.
Police were called to the Kiss 108 offices on Cabot Road in Medford shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday when witnesses reported a man behaving erratically in the parking lot.
“He was just out of his mind, absolutely out of his mind the entire time,” Greg Gross, a witness to the incident, told CBS Boston.
The man, sitting in a red vehicle, complained to several passersby that he wanted the station to play “My Axe” by Insane Clown Posse.
“He got out of his car with a machete, stopped a girl who worked up on the second floor and said ‘I want you to play a song for me,'” Doreen Schaivone, a fellow witness, told CBS Boston.
When officers arrived on scene, the man continued to display erratic behavior, dropping weapons from his car window, drinking alcohol and huffing from a paper bag, reports CBS Boston.
Police attempted to subdue the man with Taser and a beanbag round when he exited his vehicle, but were unsuccessful.
The man surrendered to police after a three-hour standoff in the parking lot, suffering only minor self-inflicted cuts, according to police. (source)
