The Mexican Drug Cartel “El Chapo” Butchers Christians In Mexico And Now Is Bringing His Terrorist Family Into America To Get U.S. Citizenship

By Walid Shoebat

“Neither the government nor priests can handle El Chapo” was a warning sent by Joaquin Guzman (El-Chapo) to what he considered his two biggest threats at the time: Christian priests and the government.

To ensure he was taken seriously, the note accompanied two corpses: soldiers that he arranged to be killed so everyone gets the message: you need to fear the drug cartel of Sinaloa, especially the infamous El Chapo.

The message was sent in response to Hector Gonzalez, the archbishop of the northern state of Durango, who raised fears of attacks on the clergy. Indeed, according to the Catholic Multimedia Center (CCM) Mexico is the most dangerous country in Latin America for priests.

The strange thing in America, is that so many act as if El-Chapo’s operation is a colorful background setting for popular American TV shows and movies. On Twitter, one comments “notice how much more love El Chapo gets compared to Trump”. Some tweets even offered to aid El-Chapo to kill Donald Trump. If one can use this as ‘the Twitter poll’ El-Chapo will be in the lead. Such are so many liberal democrats.

chapo1 copychapo2 copy 2These people are not ignorant of El-Chapo. Everyone knows El Chapo’s operation is violent, deadly business populated not only by men who destroy lives through the distribution of toxic products, but also directly, through hired gunmen who intimidate and murder rivals, government officials, and even Christian priests. The cartel resulted in over 60,000 deaths.

There are even ISIS style beheadings against Christians by the cartel. One woman who worked for a Catholic newspaper in Tamaulipas was beheaded and some 1,100 priests reported receiving extortion threats in 2011 alone, while another 255 reported receiving death threats.

Long before ISIS, it was La Familia Michoacán who shocked Mexico, in October 2006, when they tossed  5 decapitated heads on to the floor of a Michoacán disco initiating the phenomenon for years to come. Even the poorest parish churches can attract extortion attempts, because the weekly collection baskets at Sunday mass bring in a constant trickle of cash. Is this what these commenters who prefer El Chapo over Trump want?

After an evangelical pastor was killed in Mexico State for refusing extortion demands, priests from 19 parishes in the state formally requested protection from the government, stating that they were also being threatened by armed extortionists.

What happens on the other side of the border will always effect the U.S.

While everyone thinks that this problem is not in their backyard, El Chapo ordered his young wife, Emma Coronel, the daughter of another Mexican drug lord, to give birth in California to secure U.S. citizenship for his children. Now El Chapo’s daughters will be able to petition for an unlimited number of relatives, real and fraudulent, to join them in the U.S. due to the law’s chain migration provisions. Drug kingpins now are attaining legal residence in the U.S., while their relatives and offspring would be milking the welfare state for benefits and tax credits including but not limited to free education of the cartel’s anchor babies.

Even El-Chapo himself has a California drivers license. Now that the U.S., is becoming a nation of imports, drugs is topping the list. The Sinaloa cartel has a long history of tunnel building, particularly along the US border where they were used to smuggle narcotics into America. The cartel has become so powerful that Forbes magazine listed Guzman among the ranks of Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.

The U.S., a nation that prides itself on being a nation of laws has become a nation of lawlessness from the bottom all the way to the top. It was the U.S. Supreme Court that forbade schools from withholding taxpayer funding that would go towards educating illegal aliens when Justice William Brennan declared, “No plausible distinction with respect to Fourteenth Amendment ‘jurisdiction’ can be drawn between resident aliens whose entry into the United States was lawful, and resident aliens whose entry was unlawful”.

By law, now the “unlawful” can benefit.

And what about the Catholic clergy whom El-Chapo is making their life a living hell? Has Jeb Bush, the Catholic, said anything in their defense better than the Presbyterian Donald Trump? It was Donald Trump who was outspoken for Christian persecution. And if God never condemned Solomon’s wealth, are we to condemn Trump’s?

On Dec. 21, last year, four armed men barged into a Catholic seminary in the central Mexican city of Altamirano and kidnapped a Catholic pastor named Gregorio López Gorostieta. The problem for pastors is that they are the refuge for the poor in the face of criminal abuses by all sorts of government and corrupt  movements.

Altamirano is the same part of Mexico where police arrested 43 student protesters and turned them over to a drug gang that killed them all and burned their bodies until they could no longer be identified. What was eye-opening also, was that another priest from Uganda, Father John Ssenyondo has been missing in Mexico since May, when he was abducted after refusing to baptize the daughter of local gangster. The strange thing is that his remains were found in a mass grave of the same 43 college student protesters.

On Christmas Eve, in response to the abduction of Fr. Gregorio López Gorostieta, dozens of priests, infuriated by the abductions, marched through the middle of Altamirano dressed in cassocks despite that cassocks have been banned in the streets of Mexico since the days of the revolution. Hundreds of parishioners trailed behind them. They called for peace, reconciliation, and the safe return of Father Gregorio. And the Diocese of Altamirano made a direct appeal to his captors:

“We fear for his physical safety and we believe there is nobility and kindness in you… If you have conditions for his release, make them known…. Let your hearts be touched and recall the services that we have performed for your families.”

So what was the response to the demonstrating priests? On Christmas Day, Father Gregorio’s body was found on the side of the highway out of town.

Gregorio Goyo Gorostieta-739472

Fr. Gregorio López Gorostieta

Father Gregorio is at least the third priest who was murdered in the region of Tierra Caliente alone.

There are many cases in other regions. Father Habacuc Hernández Benítez was shot to death in 2009, along with two of his seminary students, while driving on the road to Arcelia. Father Joel Román Salazar died in a car crash in 2013; his death was ruled an accident, but the suspicion of foul play persists. Three months ago, on Sept. 22, the body of Father Ascensión Acuña Osorio was found floating in the shallows of the Rio Balsas, not far from his parish in San Miguel Totolapan. Father Ascensión had earlier been reported kidnapped, and he was murdered even after a ransom was paid to his captors. His body showed signs of torture and one eyewitness recalled seeing knife slashes across the priest’s face.

Father Ascensión Acuña Osorio’s mutilated body

Priests who are kidnapped are usually not counted as “killed” or “dead”, unless there is a body. Those  kidnapped and not found, are  not recorded on a drug war casualty list.

While many undermine the situation Trump brings up, reality shows that the Mexican problem next door rivals ISIS in its torture methods. The recovered bodies of priests depict odious, barbaric torture and killing. Decapitation, dismemberment, incineration, strangulation, drowning, torture and even rape are the methods used against priests in additional to the “conventional” killing methods of gunshot, or stabbings.

Throughout Mexico Catholic Priests create a safe haven for migrants and operate 95% of migrant shelters providing assistance, medical care and other forms of care. They are the greatest advocacy group, in and out of Mexico. Cartels consider this an intrusion into their source of revenue.  Priests who run the migrant shelters such as Casa Migrante’s are constantly being threatened.

Mexico, a nation that historically endured a bloody revolution to reverse the anti-Christian Calles Laws is now facing another long history of official anti-clericalism. But the atmosphere in Tierra Caliente goes far beyond that. This is a part of the country where the laws of God may be regarded with as little respect and as much contempt as the laws of man.

Family members carrying the images of 43 missing college students demonstrated last month in Mexico City. Authorites in the southern state of Guerrero, where the teacher trainees vanished, have found the body of a missing priest during their search efforts.

The body of missing Ugandan priest John Ssenyondo, seen here in an undated photo, has been found in a mass grave in Mexico. Authorities searching for the remains of 43 massacred students found the pastor’s body along with the corpses of six others.

When Donald Trump led the way to expose the situation in Mexico and the borders, he was ridiculed by ignorants who do nothing to expose the Mexican style ‘ISIS’ problem next door. In Mexico, it is like in Islam, if one leaves the religion, they are executed. Likewise in Mexico, even the  alcohol and drug rehab centers are attacked by cartels for repenting, resulting in the mass killing in drug rehab centers.

Padre Goyo, is arguably the most outspoken priest in Mexico today.  Of the 7 Apatzingán Michoacán priests whose life have been threaten in 2014, he tops the list of most reviled by organized crime, and corrupt government, both municipal, state and federal. In 2014, Goyo’s brother, “Luis Jerónimo”, was kidnapped by the Caballeros Templarios. Luis Jerónimo, 39, was released after a few days of captivity and then decided to leave Mexico and appeared before the immigration authorities at the border crossing of San Ysidro, California to seek asylum. However, what happened to Luis should be an example of what Trump speaks about the “good Mexican people” vs. the bad whom the U.S. city of refuge system do give safe haven to. Instead of allowing Luis to enter as a persecuted immigrant, he was sent to a detention center, where he  remained for nearly a year without being granted bail and exposed to immediate deportation.

In the last months of 2013, at least 5 priests were taken and all presumed dead in southern Tamaulipas. Carlos Ornelas Puga was kidnapped on November while priests Hipólito Villalobos Lima and Nicolas de la Cruz Martinez were executed in the parish of San Cristóbal de Ixhuatlán de Madero, Veracruz. In December two additional priests vanished in Tamaulipas.

Even the elderly nuns are not immune from the Mexican cartels. Two weeks ago, on June 29th, the bishop and the priests of the diocese of Tehuantepec Mexico expressed outrage regarding the violence against the clergy in the region. While the clergy were celebrating the Day of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, a convent was raided and the nuns despite their advanced age were tied and gagged and then robbed.

Americans need to wake up and deal with the reality. To all the democrat scum who preferred El Chapo over Trump, the only candidate who brought the problem to the forefront, perhaps if the situation is not seriously dealt with (which it won’t if Trump loses), it is likely that it will be your head on a platter.

Any questions?

We must be as candles that burn and melt in order to be a light to the world. In life always remember, Christians who are persecuted resemble Christ’s body “For I was hungry and you gave Me food …” So please consider the serious issue on Christian persecution, which will increase as we see the falling away unfolds before our very eyes. We are (Rescue Christians) who simply do what the label says “rescue Christians”. P.S.,

We have received a litany of comments. Here is a comment including our response from Quique Garduño that generalizes the misconceptions that are out there:

Pretty ignorant article if you ask me. Mission A LOT about the current drug war going on in Mexico, I would suggest you dig deeper into the issue and educate yourself before making blant accusations. Chapo was indeed a powerful man… in 2010. His power (as well as his cartel) has greatley diminish. The beheadings shown here were done by “The Zs”, perhaps the most violent cartel in Mexico, whose main leaders have been killed by Mexican marines in the past 2 years. Is there still violence in Mexico, without a doubt. Is it as bad as in 2006-2012? Not at all, I would argue it has actually decreased (personally speaking as I grew up in the norther region of Mexico and got to experience this war first hand). Families can now go out at night, business owners are returning to Mexico. Mexico and its people still have a long way to go, but things are getting better. Please don’t make such a fuss over a retired Mexican drug lord, maybe you should start to look at gun control issues, as most of the drug cartels get there weapons from the U.S or how to stop the addiction that is marihuana since the number one consumer is indeed the U.S.

There are more factors to look at, it is a shame that Christians are feeling the effects of this situation, but its not only them but the whole population in general and I say again, this is not the fact anymore in most of Mexico as violence has been segragated by the efforts of the Mexican military.

Cheers

Our Response:

  • First of all, I never said that these heads were from El Chapo. I simply showed the heads to show the type of violence is committed by the cartel. You were simply looking for anything to find and refute. Tell me, have you refuted everything that was written? No. As far as the guns coming from the U.S., get your facts straight. You don’t know what you are writing about. Research has asserted that most weapons and arms trafficked into Mexico are not from gun dealers in the United States, but as a matter of fact, come from either government personnel who defect to the cartels, or are sourced from Central American black markets. Most grenades and rocket-launchers are smuggled through Guatemalan borders or stolen from the Mexican police or military. DHS officials have stated that that statistic is misleading: out of approximately 30,000 weapons seized in drug cases in Mexico in 2004–2008, 7,200 appeared to be of U.S. origin, approximately 4,000 were found in ATF manufacturer and importer records, and 87 percent of those—3,480—originated in the United States.

In an effort to control smuggling of firearms, the U.S. government is assisting Mexico with technology, equipment and training. Project Gunrunner was one such efforts between the U.S. and Mexico to collaborate in tracing Mexican guns which were manufactured in or imported legally to the U.S.

In 2008, it was falsely reported that ninety percent of arms either captured in Mexico or interdicted were from the United States. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and others have dispelled these claims, pointing that the Mexican sample submitted for ATF tracing is the fraction of weapons seized that appear to have been made in the U.S. or imported into the U.S.

Try reading and researching instead of belaboring and asking other to research.

All of this…..and Iran has barely begun to move….it will be some time before JESUS returns. Even a few years sound like an eternity! Matt 24:20″But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath. 21″For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. 22″Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for
the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.… This is speaking of Israel in particular, but look what is already happening around the rest of the world. I believe it will be the same destruction to whatever degree globely. I am hopeful each country will rise up and fight and I hope it is not too little too late.

“We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through. I do not think that wide circles of American society or wide circles of the Christian community realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel.

“We must be prepared to undergo great trials in the not-too-distant future; trials that will require us to be ready to give up even our lives, and a total gift of self to Christ and for Christ. Through your prayers and mine, it is possible to alleviate this tribulation, but it is no longer possible to avert it. . . .How many times has the renewal of the Church been brought about in blood! It will not be different this time.”

how right you are and how soon. just tonight I learned that the Little Sisters of the Poor’s case against the HHS mandate was turned down by the federal court. Their only recourse is if the Supreme Court hear their case! PLEASE PRAY for them!

We know what the Supreme Court will do. They love Obama and his NWO agenda they are part of it.

We must pray for them – they have dedicated their lives to Jesus in the service of helping the poor and unwanted I can’t believe my country has turned into a cesspool of evil.

          • nothardlyfooled

yes indeed. because if the Supreme Court follows the same path they have been on, this is not good news. I was there yesterday for Mass and many residents did not even know of this news.. The Sisters were very somber and the priest acted like a clown making fun of seeing them on television offering NO encouragement… I could not even sleep last night. WE MUST pray hard for them..Saint Jeanne Jugan and St. Joseph intercede for them!

So true…family is about life itself.

Just read about some women now designing clothing…unisex…for both boys and girls, no more gender identity.

          • Willing to die for Jesus

Julie, yes so true, so much of the spirit of the USSR I am seeing more and more each day… the USSR being the first country to legalize abortion and also do away with the God-given unique attributes of men and women…and with women not being respected for their virtuous role as wives and mothers, such a Godly calling for women degraded by the feminists.. both men and women being called “Comrade” after the Bolshevik Revolution.. the Western countries are becoming more and more like the USSR each day… I noticed almost all Catholic countries now have homosexual marriage.. only the Philippines seems to be the most faithful Catholic country. Brazil, Argentina, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium.. all faithful countries now have homosexual marriage.. we’re living in prophetic times…also the non-Catholic Christian countries.. the USA, UK, the Scandinavian countries…homosexual marriage and abortion, divorce, contraception.. this is all about marriage and the family…and targeting innocent children… Jesus said we all had to be as innocent as the innocent children to enter Heaven, and children are being killed literally every day through contraception and abortion, and spiritually through divorce, the breakdown of the family…

          • Willing to die for Jesus

Julie, here is back to the future of the USSR…gender-neutrality using the word “Comrade” for both men and women. I just caught a glimpse of this video… notice how the propaganda video is described using the language of the Left…like unisex clothing, this denies the God-given unique attributes of men and women and their unique roles ordained by God…

Why I Use The Word Comrade
“Given that it’s gender-neutral, colorblind and indicative of the class struggle; ‘comrade’ applies to a wide scope of the population: those of us who find ourselves on the same side of this chessboard, regardless of race, gender, sexuality or religion”

          • Julie

Yes…what it is is neo Marxism…in Europe the Leftists are known actually as Marxists but they don’t use the word because of the pogroms.

          • Wisdom. Let us indeed attend.

        • Julie

Yes….and now with Supreme Court ruling….on gay marriage, it is emboldening the ‘ Black Beast’ who I identify as the legal system and judges now ruling against the Sisters back East…Poor Sisters of mercy?…can’t remember their name..nobody working for them who wants contraceptives…but far left wants to force contraceptive coverage on the sisters….and a Christian was denied medical school because of his faith…we will see now..

The supreme Court crossed the line into religion..dictating how people should believe in their own faith system.

          • Willing to die for Jesus

Yes a federal appeals court in Denver ruled against the Little Sisters of the Poor… they need all our prayers…maybe an appeal to the Supreme Court…so devoted and wonderfully faithful serving the Lord and they are forced to go against their beliefs… forced to provide contraceptives.. so ungodly and against religious freedom…here’s a Fox link with a video clip
            http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/07/15/denver-court-rules-against-little-sisters-poor-contraception-coverage-case/
I feel sorry for all faithful Catholics in healthcare, especially those called to be doctors and OB-GYNs..I heard in many countries there’s no conscience exceptions for those training to be OB-GYNs or even ordinary doctors, not to carry out abortions or refuse to discuss contraception or refer patients to abortion-providers….so, so, wrong and downright evil.
As a lawyer, I’m worried that Catholic and Christian lawyers will be forced in the future to take on homosexual clients, they haven’t been targeted yet….the “married” homosexuals seeking a “divorce”….I see them intentionally targeting Catholic and Christian lawyers to sue for denying them representation..

          • nothardlyfooled

yes indeed. I used to work for the Little Sisters of the Poor and they feel like family ( the Sisters). I was there for Mass yesterday and the priest was making light of seeing them on television and offered NO encouragement.. This same priest has also told me before not to complain about people laughing and talking loud and merrymaking before and during Mass!! Lord help us and PRAY for the LSP!

          • Samuel Phillips

            WHAT? LOL

          • Julie

You will be finding out soon….cases already coming out…no far left organization has the right to tell anyone how to believe or practice their faith or convictions.

        • LJW

Willing, just to let you know the final battle has always been about GOD’S THRONE. Satan thinks he will be sitting on it in the end and the LORD knows HIS THRONE will remain in HIS power and HIS privilege to eternally occupy.

What’s so sad is that there are people who could bring this to an end if they wanted to do so, yet, no one will. The right people could have El Chapo in a hole in the ground by tomorrow morning. Makes you wonder who else is benefiting monetarily from this filth.

The other thing that is so infuriating is that liberal democrats call us bigots, racists, homophobes, Islamophobe and so on, yet they are the ones that are always wishing death and destruction and spewing hatred and racial epithets upon Christians and conservatives. Yet, nothing is ever said or done about this crap…

  • Indian Christian Crusader

the ancient Mexican evil spirit gods of aztecs and mayans is active once again and has possessed these people. Spiritual warfare should go to the roots of this and crush those evil spirits. Theodore should do an entire video on this.

    • Julie

Yes….I think so as well…there were those who didn’t convert and placed their idols inside churches by the altars.

The Moon God demanded human sacrifice so the sun could return the next day…The Spanish Conquistadors had great esteem for Aztec civilization but not for its paganism. When they won the first battle and entered up to the temple, there they saw the pagan altar in a room whose walls and floors were soaked by blood.

The Spaniards were expelled and the battle began again…this time with the help of surrounding Indian tribes whose teenagers were taken from them and used as human sacrifice…what was so tragic was seeing the Aztecs bring their tiny children and toddlers up the stairs to be sacrificed so they could win the battle against the Conquistadors.

In the end, it was the Indian tribes who committed atrocities against the Aztecs. And a peal of lightning hit the temple and a ball of fire went out and out into the sky, thus ending human sacrifice in the Aztec temple.

but there was no love the Spanish had for the Aztecs. Bishop Zumarraga prayed to God for a sign that his prayers would be heard, to bring about greater integration between the Spanish and Indians. He asked for roses in December. And so one early morning Juan Diego who walked 13 miles round trip, and one of the few conversions to Christianity, was walking home and this beautiful lady appeared to him at the place of the pagan goddess of peace. He thwarted her. Then the next day he took a different route. She met him there. And asked him to pick roses next to her to bring to the bishop. So he did, and when he opened his tilma, the flowers fell out and likewise the image of Mary of Guadalupe appeared on its inside.

The tilma was brought out to the Indians who understand the meaning of the picture and its symbols and were immediately converted.

You go back to ancient Spain and how St. James the Greater tried to convert the Spaniards and fail and went back out…about the Virgin near this river Guadalupe in Spain…and the name of Mary of Guadalupe…in Aztec language…’she who crushes the head of the serpent’.

And it is the image of Mary of Guadalupe that the pope implored her prayers with the rosary..in turning the Turks back from Europe, at the Battle of Lepanto.

We need Mary of Guadalupe’s prayers and intercession…she who stands triumphant on the crescent moon and crushes the head of the serpent.

What we are seeing in the cartels, in paganism in Mexico, in ISIS is none other than the serpent.

No where in the article it says it does. As far as “writing all these lies about what is going on in Mexico”, are you saying that there is no drug cartel? No El Chapo? No corruption? Actually you give Mexicans a bad name since you deny what is obvious. Had you found “lies” you would have refuted them. Adios.

Yes, Sister Lucia of the Vision of Our Lady of Fatima. And I don’t think everything Sister Lucia told the Vatican has been revealed. Though this succinct statement sums up pretty much the state of our world right now. Marriage and the family are everything and humanity clearly will end through attacking those institutions needed to continue the future and the Faith..even to non-believers, we need to be anti-abortion just so there’s a future, it’s not rocket science, but clearly so many have a “population control” agenda, hatred of women, the natural family, the enmity between man and woman started in the Garden, the innocence of children…it’s all about marriage and the family. God bless you, if you know anymore I’d be interested as a devoted Fatima follower.

Zane, just out of curiosity, are you a Muslim from birth or a later convert? Yes, your Mahdi and Jesus will return before my Yeshua (Jesus) returns. But we are on opposite ends of the spectrum. As a Christian, I believe Yeshua of the Bible returns to destroy the Mahdi and Jesus of the Quran, which from my point of view are the Anti-Christ and false prophet. Whereas you believe that my Yeshua is your Anti-Christ. I am reading the Quran to learn a Muslims point of view. I have questions and reading the Quran for myself I believe will answer. Have you read the Hebrew Scriptures, the Bible, New and Old Testaments? Bless our LORD YESHUA, as HE seeks after your heart!

Trump has earned alot of money using his brains, provides honest work for alot of people, demands honesty and accountability and results.

Vs El Chapo who lives on the suffering and bondage of people addicted to drugs, slaughters, murders, intimidates innocent people…

Cannot compare a good man to an evil one. A few pictures here say an awful lot about this evil man.

You are reading from English spin put out after England became a nationalist religion.

The BBC came out awhile back with a documentary program addressing all the misinformation.

Actually it is Islam responsible for 270 million deaths.

Ever study how it wiped out Christian civilizations in Egypt, Syria, Palestine, Turkey?…what it did to the Sikhs in India, the split between India and Pakistan?…

Christianity is the most humanizing movement in history. You won’t find such information in leftist (Marxist is the name in Europe)…universities and media.

You are correct, religion does not have anything to do with this. Not the Baptist, Catholics, Lutherans, etc., etc. However, the WORD of GOD does. The Bible tells the whole story front to back. Ask yourself, “what is he bigger picture that we need to be looking at?”
“And he changeth the times and the seasons; He removeth
kings, and setteth up kings; he giveth wisdom unto the wise,
and knowledge to them that know understanding. He revealeth
the deep and secret things; he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the
light dwelleth with him.” (Dan 2: 20-22 )
“Thou, O king, art a king of kings, for the God of heaven hath
given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, glory.” ( Dan 2: 37 )
Psalm 24:1 The earth is the LORD’S, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it. 2For He has founded it upon the seas And established it upon the rivers.…..This globe is on loan to mankind and we are not doing a good job taking care of it due to the weight of our sin. The earth groans in anticipation of Jesus’ return. Read Romans 8:18-22. The LORD is at work in the world bringing things to a close using people, red, yellow, brown, black and white to achieve HIS purpose for the good of mankind. Satan is hard at work using people, red, yellow, brown, black, and white to achieve his evil purposes. Yes, you will have an opinion, we all do. But try not to look at the individual only, but first, ask yourself what is GOD’S plan in allowing this person to speak and be heard by the whole world, never mind what we think whether good or bad about this person. What does GOD think, how does this person fit in GOD’S plans? Most of us are in the box…..step out of the box and look from the vantage point of Heaven. You will be refreshed and renewed when you place it all in HIS HANDS! The enemy is Satan…..GOD’S enemy, mine and yours! You will find the answers, if you are seeking, in HIS WORD, the BIBLE. Time is short use it wisely!

Images of Christ, post AD 525, when Shroud was located in Edessa, Turkey, match the face image on the Shroud with 180 points of congruence, which is more than enough in a court of law (which requires 37 points) to be considered as proof.

What about apostate Bill Clinton and his drug running operation in Mena, AR?

    • RodK1975

Excellent point, Julie (good to see you back, BTW) Bill Clinton is probably the biggest reprobate of a president we’ve ever had, yet, he’s held in such high regard, mind boggling..

      • Julie LaBrecque

My hope is that we don’t have to suffer with a third reign of the reprobate.

        • RodK1975

Ugh… you and me too. Talk about Ahab and Jezebel…

  • Julie LaBrecque

You are a few Bible-bricks short of a load. God forbids the worship of images, but He does not forbid them being made, nor being used, for He Himself commanded the Ark of the Covenant to be built of wood covered with gold with 2 images of angels of hammered gold on top; He also commanded the making of the Brazen Serpent on the pole, which He instructed the Israelites that were bitten by serpents to ‘gaze upon it and be healed’. God also sanctified Solomon’s Temple which was full of ‘graven images’. You can have them, you can’t worship them as though they were God. Donald Trump did not generalize, he specifically referred to those who were repeatedly deported and/or were committing crimes. My husband’s cousin had her life ripped out from her, in ICU 3 months, barely lived, totally paralyzed, in a wheel chair, living on pain medicine because an illegal immigrant crashed into her in New Mexico – and she has no recourse against him – He fled back to Mexico, so where is the justice?

  • Julie LaBrecque

Do you know where the ‘natives’ came from, and if there were other peoples here when they arrived? I am having a hard time accepting that one hundred million Indians populated America 400 years ago; the population of the US now is 300 million.

  • Julie LaBrecque

What is unfair about his comment? Do WE not have the right to know WHO is coming here? If you are wanting to come here, or are already living here, why do YOU not want to know who or what is crossing the border?

  • Julie LaBrecque

Then, pray tell, how are they all getting here?

  • Julie LaBrecque

As Christians, we believe the ‘dead’ in Christ are alive, and Rev 12 makes certain that the Mother of the Man-child is in heaven. Does you mystical plea for blood produce blood?

  • Julie LaBrecque

Can you tell me where the Bible mentioned your name? The Bible states that the VIRGIN is a ‘SIGN’ – A ‘GREAT SIGN’.

  • Julie LaBrecque

Did he ever state that she is god? No – so take back your slander. No one worships Mary, we give her the HONOR that she is DUE – PER THE BIBLE. YOU DON’T – you aren’t ‘in’ the generations.

God is powerful, and money buys resources. Why does it have to be either/or? And people continue to speak the truth, like the priests in this article, even when they are under threat of torture and death, because it is right.

  • Willing to die for Jesus

Your post is full of hatred and just shows how much your leftist homosexual rights groups engage in “tolerance” and “difference of opinion”. You quote and use the lower case when writing about Jesus, whom I am sure you know nothing about and how He and St Paul in Romans 1:18-32 condemned active homosexual behavior. FYI, I have many homosexual friends and I assist as many as I can to leave the homosexual lifestyle because I believe in God and the Bible and God doesn’t just change His mind like the wind because society has lost their way. You think you’re clever, but we’ll see who is in the end. I’ll stick with the long history which hasn’t changed that active homosexual behavior is wrong. I admire ex-gays and those faithful God-pleasing celibate gays (of which I know many) who are not enslaved to their flesh, which will be no more one day but our Spirit is eternal… I’d be focusing on that for yourself. As for being a lawyer, I am currently a legal scholar in the most ungodly of places, the university campus, so I am in contact with students and Faculty all the time…the majority being of your liberal type but thank God a good number of decent conservative and Christian folk, too. Go and learn some respect for differing respecting opinions, you prove the point that Shoebat has said, you want a homosexual tyranny to rule. Lawyers, doctors, professionals, small businesses should have the right to SERVE whom THEY CHOOSE, unless there’s some exception, for example, emergency doctors, and even then I do not like to FORCE people to ACT AGAINST THEIR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS. Go move to Communist China, you clearly can’t wait an all-out Christian persecution so that all faithful, non-apostate, Christians who believe in REAL marriage are imprisoned or executed. You claim to have God on your side, but all you have is sin, and you should be repenting of that, like I do daily of mine. God bless you as you bless Him, try and release that spirit of anger that has taken a hold of you, it’s very unhealthy. Something has struck a raw nerve. As for the Fox link, it was the first site I found, and it is the least “biased” though I still see Fox as liberal and gay rights supporting, so much for your knowledge of the media.

  • Julie LaBrecque

Please examine your Bible – because you don’t have a clue what it says. Where on the earth do you get ‘that means no drinking and that means alcohol’? JESUS DRANK WINE so get over your puritanical tendencies that contradict God’s word – The Bible COMMANDS and INSTRUCTS the drinking of alcohol. Wake up. And Mary ISN’T AN IDOL – you just want to THINK she is. You have failed Part 1 of the Bible test. Part 2 you fail also, because God COMMANDED THE MAKING OF GRAVEN IMAGES – The Ark of the Covenant had IMAGES of ANGELS ON TOP, made of hammered gold no less. He also COMMANDED MOSES TO MAKE A GRAVEN IMAGE OF A SERPENT ON A POLE. Part 3: MARY is to be called BLESSED IN ALL GENERATIONS and God Himself claims to be the SOURCE OF HER BEING PRAISED – Psalm 45:14-18 – so you aren’t obeying God, so you have failed again. Part 4 – you claim to be a messenger – you are too ignorant of the Bible to be a messenger.

So breakdown of the family and abortion, which ensures the future survival of mankind, is nothing even though your leftist types will cry about “endangered wildlife” (don’t get me wrong, I am into animal welfare)..but the inconsistency of the left is such I don’t even bother arguing anymore with you. Considering your ages require you to mature and get mugged: “A liberal is a conservative who hasn’t been mugged yet”..so go get mugged…and smell the stench of abortion and realize the de-population of Europe and the lack of a future generation to look after the elderly which will lead to the killing of the elderly who can’t be cared for, why?. Not only no children from abortion, but a lot of divorce too, and alienated family members not caring for one another… God help me, I’m arguing with somebody who has no clue about Family Values.

Then why are Muslims cutting throats? And why have they done this since Mohammed’s days?

  • Julie LaBrecque

  • Willing to die for Jesus

I’ve see you around and I’ve been meaning to ask you, if you don’t mind, are you a priest? I speak as a Catholic who has been drawn to the priesthood in the past decade, so that’s my perspective.
I love and have huge respect for all Christian clergy and the Religious orders who labor in hostile secular times in the West. I’m always praying that both the clergy and the laymen can bring about a Renewal (or Revival) and to further the New Evangelization whether Catholic, Orthodox or the Protestants like the Anglicans and Lutherans who’ve stuck with their traditions, as well as the other Protestants like Baptists.
I would address you as Father, or similar title, as per denomination, rather than by your screen name, if you are a minister of God, out of common courtesy.
    God bless you.

  • Julie LaBrecque

Like another comrade, you are a brick shy of a load. The flesh of the Passover Lamb had to be eaten.

  • Willing to die for Jesus

Zane, your beautiful message came across. God bless you, such a lovely message of peace.
Please stick around, we can learn from different perspectives. I personally love the Iranian and Arabic people and the strong family values.
I reject all Middle Eastern violence by all sides, and I’m not biased at all, I stand for peace. I’m Australian, not American. I am Catholic, not a Protestant. I believe Syria was truly a beautiful country before ISIS just like you say. Do you live in Iran or Syria or Lebanon or Iraq? I like to speak to people in those countries, but it’s difficult with the sad wars going on, I pray God protects all His children in the Middle East..God bless you.

  • RodK1975

Apparently I struck a nerve… Good… Here I’ll paste you an excerpt from another post I did. Enjoy:

“…. these people do make up their own reality and by default their reality
is governed by their rules. These homo-tyrannical, libelous and
murderous liberals propagate filth and deception, they turn God’s Truth
into a lie. They blaspheme and spout their verbal pestilence and
justify it by declaring it all to be in the name of tolerance and
fairness when at it’s heart is out-right, first and foremost utter
rebellion against God. In their reality, they can redefine words to
mean whatever they want them to mean, but the new meaning bears no
resemblance to the truth. They blaspheme the Savior of mankind and call
it “freedom of speech” and turn right around and call the praising of
our God “hate speech” which they say must be silenced. They celebrate
the wretched abomination of homosexuality and call it “natural and pure”
and ridicule what is truly pure and natural. They mock and defecate
upon the physical representation of God’s Love and desire for mankind
(symbolized in the marriage of a Christian man and a woman) and call it
“marriage equality”. They call their hatred for God “love” and call the
love for God “hatred”. They kill the most innocent among us, unborn
children, and call it “reproductive rights”. They rob unborn children
of their right to live and call it “freedom of choice”. And then, the
hypocrites turn right around and lobby for the release from prison of
murderers, rapist, child molesters and any other reprobate and call the
incarceration of them and the death penalty for these criminals “cruel
and unusual punishment”. Liberalism has one purpose and no other,
full-scale war against God and all that is Holy and right. They desire
to destroy anything that remotely honors and praises God the Father, Son
and Holy Spirit and to replace it with any perversion and distortion of
God’s plan and desire for man.”

I’m sure that, like a good mind-numbed liberal robot, you believe that society would be much better off without religion (and everyone knows when you people say that, you specifically mean Christianity) but the truth is no one has killed more people on the face of this earth than atheist state governments (ie Marxist-Leninist, Communist, Socialist regimes like Stalin, Mao to name a few). The truth of the matter is that without Judeo-Christian morals and ethics as the foundation for our social construct, and traditional marriage as its bedrock and structure, our civilization will quickly descend into utter chaos ruled by moral depravity and wanton violence. In other words, after getting rid of Christians and God, your liberal socialist utopian society will collapse under the weight of it’s own filth. And as far as what you said about **Christians who shame other people for who they are… yada, yada, word vomit**, the origin of anyone’s shame comes from within. No Christian can shame someone that hasn’t done anything shameful. People feel shame for living a depraved lifestyle and murdering their unborn children, etc and then project those feeling of shame on Christians and blame us as the source when it’s their own conscience being seared.

“How about instead of siding with one group you drop your bipartisan
title and make up your mind for yourself rather than listen to what the
GOP’s latest brainwash rhetoric is this month.”

See, the mistake that people like you make is believing that Christians are monolithic and just like you, but on the opposite side of politics. That’s where you’re wrong. The GOP is becoming just as stupid, weak, pandering, pathetic and morally corrupt as the DNC. We Christians do think for ourselves and you can’t handle that fact or it appears that way from your rambling, drug-addled response. Furthermore, the only whining that’s going on in this country is the same whining that’s been going on, a bunch of stark raving mad liberals running around screaming about the latest oppressed underclass of immoral, s*x-crazed, perverted and undisciplined social misfits that can’t control their libidos, take responsibility their own actions and are so self-absorbed they can’t handle someone disagreeing with their abominable lifestyle and telling them that how they’re living is dangerous to themselves and society as a whole. So, take your feigned, self-righteous indignation to Salon.com or the Huffington Post comment section where it’ll be praised, cheered and lauded as brilliant and refreshing, here it’s just pompous BS.

Also, does El Chapo sell lemonade while only the Zetas sells drugs?

Try to learn how to reason.

  • The “democrat scum” if you cared to read carefully you will find it was about the democrats who support killing Trump. Taking things out of context is the habit of liars. And how could we be anti-immigration if we ourselves are immigrants?

As far as corruption within the Mexican government and the U.S. government, we both agree, that the corruption is there. But you cant compare Mexican government corruption with the U.S.

As far as education, are you saying that illegals should be provided the same treatment as Mexicans who come here legally?

  • America when Europeans came here was simply a massive land with tribal savages. Do you presume it goes back to that?

Okay, now your name is on my pray list twice! Speaking of science, who claimed the earth was round? Go ahead, look to your academic textbooks first, but then look to the Bible. Isaiah 40:22 He sits above the (circle of the earth)–its inhabitants are like grasshoppers–He stretches out the skies like a curtain, spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. Many of the discoveries we have made were thousands of years ago confirmed in the Bible before we ever knew they existed. Look to your most reliable textbook, THE BIBLE. For your reference Isaiah was written 701-681 BC.

    • Vemius PC

scientist claimed the earth was round and the catholic church threatened with execution. and ofcourse the bible was made thousands of years ago its just not real sorry to burst ur bubble bud.

      🙂

      • Julie LaBrecque

        You are clueless and wrong.

      • LJW

Sounds like the Bible is full of fairy tales according to you? So this evening before you lay your head to bed, crack open the Bible (Fairy Tales for the Soul) and start with the book of John. You won’t be disappointed. It features a heavenly birth, turning water into wine, healing the sick, a GOD walks on water, bread literally falls from heaven, a person is brought back to life. An evil betrayal, false arrest, torture and a heartbreaking Crucifixion. But it has a happy ending and it was all written with you in mind.

        • Julie LaBrecque

Want to reach a non-believer? Give proof of the existence of God through the miracles in The Church – 250 Saints whose bodies have not corrupted; miraculous transformations of bread to flesh and wine to blood – all scientifically studied and verified by world-renown scientists – and don’t forget the Shroud.

          • Willing to die for Jesus

Julie L, that is why I am so againt cremation, it is not only a pagan rite, but it shuts down this possibility to witness incorruptible bodies…the Orthodox Churches have it right, no Orthodox priest would celebrate a funeral where the body would be cremated, it is one of the things I am against (among many others) post-Vat II Council. The thought of cremation sickens me.. there’s never been any in my family, and the UK has the greatest rate..80%.. I often refuse to go to funerals if the person is going to be cremated, but I have gone to some before the body goes to the crematorium, this is making me sick just typing it, please forgive me for my feelings on this. I have strong views about this and wish the Church would return to a lot of its pre-Vati II positions…as Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI said, he saw a more faithful but smaller Church…that would be able to bring about a Renewal. Having said that I am not a sedevacantist, nor have I even attended a Latin or Tridentine Mass…but they are so inspiring and beautiful, even during Vat-II, the Orthodox were pleading for the Liturgy not to change…the sacred mysteries of the Eastern Churches have a lot to teach us and why I love and am drawn to the Byzantine Churches. The Great Schism so desperately needs to be healed…and for the Righteousness from the Orthodox Countries to spread to the West, they are being attacked by the West for standing up for the Family. Russia, Romania, the Ukraine war…is about much more than meets the eye.

          • Julie LaBrecque

I won’t be cremated – I hope the schism is healed – but Peter was given not only primacy, but supremacy, please read Isaiah 22:15-22 , there is NO doubt. He is THE Father over the House. Nobody in the entire NT fell dead at anybody’s feet except for Peter, the Temple collectors knew that Peter was Jesus’ hand chosen, that is why they asked Peter for Peter’s and Jesus’ temple tax – which Jesus provided by miraculous coin in fish. Further, there has been a succession since day one. I too, love the Byzantine Liturgies, they are beautiful. Offhand, do you know if they have any miracles of the Eucharist? I have a book on the Catholic miracles, am wondering if there is one for the Orthodox – maybe I should ask Rudy if he knows of such – he knows everything.

          • Willing to die for Jesus

Yes I know of the Eucharistic Miracles…the Saints and Blessed who survived on the Consecrated Host and Consecrated Wine… and nothing else..miraculous, faith-affirming. I wasn’t disputing Papal infallibility… just some of the teachings that were changed post Vat-II (a big one being issues of “universal salvation”..let’s not go there, many Catholics have left over that one alone), I have no intention of leaving just discussing… and interesting I found out the Orthodox plead during the time of Vat-II for the Latin Mass and its Sacred Mysteries to be retained… but most likely changed to please the Protestant crowd… who’ve now largely imploded it appears.. and there’s always talk about returning to the pre-Vat-II period… I mean the Reformation/Protestant countries have become so apostate…I’ve been urged to attend some Latin masses which aren’t hard to go to here in Sydney as opposed to the US south where it’s hard enough to fin a RCC church let alone one that has Latin Mass services…. but I haven’t been yet….just seen the videos.

          • Julie LaBrecque

Could you specify what part of Vatican II you consider to teach universal salvation? We have Latin Masses here, and I’m in Redneck Country.

          • Willing to die for Jesus

I guess I was just parroting a lot of ignorance without much constuctive criticism. I don’t teach the Catechism, an old friend of mine does…and don’t refer to it like I should.
Went to Vatican website to look at the CC, I was looking at the controversial “The Church and non-Christians” (839-845) and “Outside the Church there is no salvation” (846-848).
I am influenced by my years of going to Protestant and evangelical churches…and the need to have a personal relationship with Christ.. not that this changes any of my other views at all (like praying for the dead, accepting non-Christian can enter Heaven through prayer of the living and the Saints in Heaven)… just agree that for the purposes of Christ recognizing His followers, it’s best they at least worship Him as the Risen Son of God… rather being a non-Christian, including Muslim or Jew whom the CC does appear to privilege. I know appearances are deceptive and its political…
I’ve also been told and I’m unsure about replacement theology…I noticed your debate with Slim Shady, as I’m personally ambivalent about this as somebody who has always sided with Palestinians and don’t exactly like the Jews whom Christ cursed as being the children of Satan and belonging to the Synagogue of Satan, so this hatred will last forever, the Babylonian Jewish Talmud is the most filthy anti-Christian Jewish manual, which makes me respect Muslims over Jews any day for this ancient hatred, I am learning to change but I dunno… and I think before Vat-II there was none of this Jewish-pandering not requiring salvation of the Jews or the Allah-reference. I don’t even want to say this… it adds to Catholic prejudice (I know many US evangelical sects are Zionist even though the Orthodox Jews themselves don’t recognize Israel as they say, some I should say, will only recognize Israel when “their Messiah” comes again and that’s when Israel should be proclaimed not by atheist Jews following the Six Day War, but maybe a new Council will be called, you surely can’t think Vat-II has been a good thing. Some detractors saying the Church teaches Christ-denying Jews are already saved and don’t need converting and Muslims and Catholics worship the same Allah… this was all politics I know. But people don’t see that. Forgive my ignorance, it’s just what I’ve been told, and I don’t believe but then sometimes throw “out there”.

Yes, after reading the above parts of the CC, I can see reading the CC it is much more complicated… and it doesn’t appear to teach universal salvation….and that this talk doesn’t come from a full understanding by smooth talking intelligent detractors…But I’ve also been told I’m confused and this confusion is caused by too much rationalizing.. that’s true.. and why I draw on the philosophy of the Eastern Church which isn’t caught by by rationalism which leads to this sort of confusion… even atheism, pride, etc… but the Eastern Churches are recovering after atheist-imposed governments, and they need all the help of the Latin Church with its strong Pro-Life groups to help their societies steeped in abortion (they have the greatest and most shockingly high rates of abortion, it breaks my heart… Russia, Romania, all those Orthodox countries… even Greece which was never Communist but steeped in abortion…meanwhile Italy and other countries are literally contracepting themselves to death. Clearly the future of the Church will be in Africa and Asia, even Latin American being targeted mercilessly by the USA and its horrid Protestant sects…which are dying in the US but being revived in Brazil and Mexico, which only leads to atheism and secularism as this fickle faith erodes eventually separated from historical Truth.

          • eassa

Michael Brown has some debates and interviews concerning replacement theology,

          • Julie LaBrecque

The Church has condemned ‘Replacement Theology’ – nobody replaced anybody, Jesus broke down the wall of enmity between Jew and Gentile, and gathers both into one body, through the ‘two sticks’ (Ezekiel 37:15-19) of the Cross (John 12:32-33) – the Jews will be converted before Christ returns, and this is listed as one of the ‘signs’ that His appearing is near. St. Thomas Aquinas predicted that Enoch (Gentile) and Elijah (Jew) will be the 2 witnesses in Jerusalem, and they will effect Eucharistic Miracles which will accompany the finding of the Ark. Many of the Mystics of the Church have also said that it is indeed Enoch and Elijah that appear before the return of Christ. Many people misunderstand the language of the Catechism – and some of the language is ‘couched’ – it does not teach that Jews are ‘automatically’ saved. They are beloved of God because of the Patriarchs – what we would call a ‘Treasury of Merits’ for ‘Israel”, along-side the Church’s own ‘Treasury of Merits’ won by all the Saints.

          • Willing to die for Jesus

Thank you for your clarification… is it wrong to be pro-Palestinian and against the Jews?.. I just don’t like them, as they are so anti-Christian and I prefer the Palestinians and Arabs and their strong family values..Jews hate Christians so much in their majority, I forgive them, but I prefer the other true Semites, Children of Shem, the Arabs…to understand my perspective, I have much Slavic heritage… and we’re not Zionists at all… like Americans are, even though I’m Australian, just my heritage. And the whole Bolshevik Jewish “Russian” Revolution… atheist Jews are such a curse.

          • Julie LaBrecque

I would say that we aren’t to single-out anybody, all humans receive their soul from God. I am well aware of the plight of the Palestinian Christians, may were forced out of their homes and had their lands taken from them since Israel became a state. I also know that Fr Mitch Pacwa has had rocks thrown at his car by Jews (because he was driving on Sunday) – and Steve Ray was verbally accosted and threatened on/near the Temple Mount by Jews – they tried to force him to leave because he uttered ‘Jesus Christ’, and they heard him – he told them they couldn’t make him leave because he had a permit – when they kept threatening him, he simply told them that if they didn’t leave him alone, he would touch them, which would make them ritually impure! What a gas! I do not believe that any Christian that purchased land there should be expelled because they aren’t ‘Jewish’ – which really all Christians are in the sense that Paul stated that a real Jew is a Jew that is a Jew inwardly, and not outwardly.

          • Willing to die for Jesus

By Church you meant Vat II council or Vat I? Before this it was okay? With all the “evolving” views.. but be it far from me to criticize the Church… and it’s “novelties”, especially in the Liturgy. I hope the Church doesn’t “modernize” to the point of ignoring the Virgin, to whom I am so devoted.. enough pandering to the austere and ugly Protestant-type churches.. bring back more of the beautiful Altars of the generations of my parents and before! I heard perhaps with the Orthodox, who have been against the Latin mass being dropped, whether it will be re-introduced.. I think the Western apostasy is definitely due to the Liturgical novelties.. Protestants have cursed us so much, don’t know why we were so accommodating of them. They just don’t care for Christianity and the poison has spread to the RCC societies/countries…to be replaced by Islam, I hope to God not. But it’s about the Liturgy, and the sacred mysteries, and why Russia is getting blessed, the sense of the holy in the Liturgy… some Churches now show little resemblance to a Protestant Church.. but I’m not going to seek out Latin Masses… those who have just eventually leave the Church out of annoyance of being a minority within the Church. Not disaffected.. just voices out how I feel now and then. Was on Catholic forums discussing End Times in a Catholic context… discussing Fatima Vision… and how disrespect of the Virgin as a sinner by the USA might have a lot to do with its Fall.. and of the West.. and the fall in vocations, etc…do you visit Church Militant, Crisis Magazine, or other Catholic sites?

          • Julie LaBrecque

Since the Miracles of Buenos Aires occurred after Vat II, one would have to conclude that the Mass being said in the vernacular is effective.

          • Yes, I won’t iterate further. There is no replacement theology. Its a concept as dead as liberation theology and some others that I won’t waste time mentioning.

          • You are 100% correct. If I outlive any of my siblings, I will not allow for cremation. It is a pagan practice. Had a recent death in the family and the mother was going to cremate and the grandmother (who is actually my oldest sister) stepped in, objected and would not allow it. My sister gave up her burial plot next to her husband for her granddaughter to be buried in. Christians should not practice cremation.

          • Julie LaBrecque

Pagans also buried their dead so I wouldn’t classify it as necessarily a ‘pagan’ practice. King Saul was cremated – and the Israelites were not pagans.

          • I think in some regards I look at it like tattooing. When you look at the roots of tattoos, they were always tied to pagan practices. Even though they are now the trendiest thing in the mainstream, anyone who traces them back to their history would find the practice of tattooing among the pagans. Now I know plenty of sleeved up individuals who are now Christians, but also (and unfortunately) some Christians who made decisions to go out and get tattoo(s). So if cremation has become, in come regards, cliche among Christians, I recognize also it is a bit trite in saying its a “pagan practice.” I of course recognize there were pagans who did and do bury their bodies and also Christians who also practice cremation for costs, etc. I guess my comments were thinking in regards to the Orthodox view of cremation, which sees it as a pagan practice and one Christians should neither practice (nor condone it; if I understand it correctly)

          • Julie LaBrecque

Up until the 60’s Catholics were forbidden to be cremated as a matter of discipline to refute the pagans who disbelieved in the resurrection of the body which was reflected in their burning of bodies. I personally detest tattoos and would never have one myself, on the whole I don’t believe they are a sin unless they are done for nefarious reasons/message. God put a mark on Cain, which might be considered a tattoo, it had to be visible for other people to see it.

          • There is no officially recognized book, per se, except which is handled locally. This is actually something a few friends of mine and I were discussing.

However, we don’t see Peter’s role as supreme head, and nowhere did the Church Fathers allude to it, except out of context. This is why we’re still in Schism. Be that as it may, the current Pontiff, as well as Pope Benedict and St John Paul II, were more literate in Orthodox theology, and seemed to have more respect for our position.

Neither of us will be able to give up ground until we have another Ecumenical Council. I hear the rumor of one for 2025, which would be exactly 1,700 years from The First Council in Nicaea. I pray that, there, we can resolve the idiotic political differences in all the real churches, and get back to being one family again.

          • Julie LaBrecque

But all not the Orthodox Churches divided doctrinally? Some accept the Council of Chalcedon and some don’t. Peter is supreme, as was the Royal Steward was in the model Davidic Kingdom – he and he alone had the keys, and spoke with all the authority of the King.

          • We’re not divided at all doctrinally, though if you have seen some of the dialog between the Jerusalem Patriarchate and Antioch, we are in the middle of a, forgive my French, territorial pissing contest, which sickens me to death.

For our position, I’d start by reading here, as we consider the Seat of Peter, at best, First Among Equals, but never, ever the head of anything. If that were the case, then Antioch would also be at the same level, as Peter established his bishopric there first:

            http://oca.org/holy-synod/statements/fr-kishkovsky/primacy-theme-of-catholic-orthodox-dialogue

I would never ask a member of the Church of Rome to change. That comes from within. But, because we both enjoy reading, these links will be a way for you to see how the Orthodox position differs.

          • Julie LaBrecque

I’ll look at those links, thanks. I recall the letter from Clement to the Corinthians, to settle a dispute there, can’t remember the details, and Theodoret writing of supremacy over all churches, or words to that effect.

          • By all means. We always have fun discoursing. This will be no different. I’m just happy to share the Orthodox perspective, especially as a former Catholic who still has a soft spot for Rome.

          • Ah, I also forgot to mention that it’s true that not all ‘Orthodox’ churches recognize Chalcedon. The Oriental Orthodox are not in communion with us, and this is something they’re working to rectify.

          • Julie LaBrecque

            Let’s pray that this happens.

          • A thousand times, amen.

          • You are 100% correct. I think you and I talked about it before, but I will reiterate it here.

          • Willing to die for Jesus

Vinny I seriously cannot fathom it, I really can’t. It may also be a cultural thing. I am of a Slavic background (mainly from the Slovak region, not that I can speak it), though also have Germanic, though I can’t really locate much of my family origins having a lot of peasant family members and can’t trace further back than grandparents or great-grandparents at best. I know Germanic people are fond of this practice, but more the Protestant-seculars, not so much the Catholic ones, but it’s grown due to Vatican 2 Council. The UK is particularly fond of cremation and it sickens me, and in the US it’s increasing due to secularization but also financial reasons. I know it’s illegal in Greece and Israel, but again I reiterate my disgust of the practice. I know Italians are not fond of it either, and nor are historically Orthodox peoples… as you know, Orthodox priests won’t officiate at a cremation, just like the RCC use to do before Vat 2-Council. I am becoming more critical of the post Vat-2 Novus Ordo Church, but I live in one of the more conservative archdioceses in Sydney, Australia, so not as much craziness as the US and German Churches. Nice to chat to you as always…. and I agreed totally with your comment about the direction this website took.. I personally don’t like many of the US Protestants on here, with their patriotism trumping their Christianity, in a similar fashion to the phyletism of many Orthodox Churches… it’s sad when I see Catholics falling for this as Christianity really should be borderless. (I also reduced myself to chit-chat myself during that period this site went off-the-wall…. but that was also because those Catholics that contribute so much, like Julie L, and Sister E too, who also adapts to the surrounding, didn’t contribute for a while. Those 2 you told off, I totally agree with, plus I am disliked by many and I don’t care, for there are some or quite a few I like, almost all exclusively Catholic and Orthodox. I find many US Protestants extremely shallow. My apologies if I offended you re the nationalism issue, I personally have no particular soft spot for any nation in the “patriotic” sense, though of course, as a person of European origin, I love Europe, particularly the Romance-language countries and the Slavic ones.

          • There is no offense taken at all. I think you are right on regarding American (Christians) being more nationalistic first before Christians. I think it is very easy to get sucked into. I don’t think I’ve ever been as worried about my country, our nation, our standing, our security, etc, as I have been over the last 7 years. I think many of us take the country and its direction very seriously. Plus America had enjoyed unprecedented influence in the world since I was a child. However, the leadership and direction not only of our country, but of the way the world is in flames has caused concern for many of us. I do think much of the chaos in the world is the direct result of a weak America. This out of control middle east would never have happened under Reagan. We of course should not think our country is the be all, end all, but America has often been in the position to really affect the outcome of situations in the world (which was often for the security of our nation and our partner nations.)

I don’t know, but it could be that Bush Sr was the last real leadership type president we had. I think Trump is right (but many of us thought it before he has been saying it), if there had never been a Ross Perot, there is no way anyone ever hears of Bill Clinton. Perot’s third party candidacy cost Bush 1 the election and look at what happened to America since Clinton. Even if we look at the Iraq war of 03, we had that one beat. Then all of a sudden it was almost as if we didn’t want to win and soon you hear about the contractors and Iraq really turned into an opportunity for many lucrative contracts. I might be rambling at this point, but I think someone like myself has watched my country really be at the brink of so many things and to really have all of that washed away in just 7 short years.

Did anyone really think Obama would shut down NASA? Destroy our Healthcare system? Flood our nation with some of the most vicious and vile illegal immigrants? Attack our police? Insight civil unrest and disobedience? Allow the middle east to descend into chaos? Practically insight a United States of Islam in the middle east? Triple our national debt? Offend our partner nations and allies? Decimate our soldiers? I can keep going. So I think for many Americans, this is tough to watch. When someone like Trump says, “Make America Great Again” many of us remember exactly what that was like. So yes I think there is a lure for many of us Christians into worldliness. Perhaps for many of us, our Christianity is as intricately tied to our nationality as any other nations. It is that many of us have been Christians inside of a very powerful nation. There is a lot to learn and balance.

With all of that being said, brazen attitudes certainly come with the territory. Therefore, you get a lot of hot headed people, who don’t really know what it is like to have to go out and engage the world. The internet is a very interesting invention. My parents and grandparents could never imagine communicating with people around the world at the click of a button any day of the week. Look at how much exposure we get to one another. I would imagine some of our most intelligent people really don’t have time to even be on any website having debates; they’re too busy being intelligent and successful (ha ha, who knows.)

I also think America gets a worse reputation than it deserves. Americans are also some of the first ones to donate their time and talents around the world for all types of causes. Now of course I know there are many other citizens of many other countries that do the same. However, look at how many times America came to the aid and rescue of nations in all sorts of situation. Wars, catastrophes, etc. Much of that is often never talked about. This entire world has gone mad because of social media and the internet. There is such a vast flow of knowledge and information, people can’t take it all in. So what goes “viral”? It is the idiocy of the world, because those are cheap thrills and easy attention grabbers.

However much of the historical, scientific and important work being done is often overlooked. Most Americans could care less about Kaitlyn Jenner. I didn’t even remember who he was before he became her. It is not important to us. The things the media sends out as “viral” and the way we are represented in the world on so many trivial issues, are not even issues for most Americans. Remember, the form of our government is supposed to be majority rules with minority rights. We are so backwards now in this country, that the minority rules with the majority receiving less and less rights. Many in the majority on many issues are getting fed up and frustrated?

So I don’t really know what I can say about it. I really don’t know what to say about Protestantism anymore either. Long before I met so many wonderful Catholics and Orthodox on here, I was beginning to question and wonder what was happening within Protestantism. I had to leave Catholicism when I left, there were some things I just felt I had to part with. When I went into Protestantism, I felt as though I flourished and grew beyond measure in my faith. But lately, I’ve been amazed at what I’ve seen pass for Christianity within Protestantism. Heck, perhaps I’m one of those problems.

I think Protestantism produced some really great thinkers, some really holy people. I think they, like so many other sectors, have succumbed to so many pressures and deceits of worldliness that they have forgotten their roots. Even look within Pentecostalism, it really is chaos. I feel as though my Catholicism saved me from a host of errors rampant within Protestantism. I think the Protestant/Evangelicals biggest downfall is not only ignorance of church history, but a refusal to even engage it once confronted with it. You really can’t blame some on for blind ignorance as much as you can blame them for willful ignorance.

I think that is what hampers more of Protestantism than anything else, willful ignorance. So much of Protestantism is built on attacking others. Showing of your theological prowess if you will. This is the pride of the protestant and it makes them completely unable to hear counter arguments or consider alternative view points. So regarding the others I eventually voiced my opinion with. It really was not meant to be an attack, it was meant to say this site enjoys a privilege you won’t find on MSNBC or on many other sites. A place where thinkers on these theological topics can come and share and grow. I mean isn’t that what its all about? Having a teachable spirit? Sometimes I enjoy the one liners of so many, humor is a good thing. There is a difference between lightheartedness or kidding around and completely taking over a website’s comment section for your own personal use.

Anyway, well thank you for many of your useful comments. I often learn something when I read your posts in certain threads. Glory be to God when we edify others.

          • Willing to die for Jesus

Thanks for your kind remark, God bless you! If there’s something that I am learning more and more, it is the ugly face of Protestant, especially the US Protestant sects which we also have here in Australia, which is the home of the Hillsong megachurch with its worship music which has swept the US Bible belt and a lot of the Protestant sects here. I think upon reflection I may have been overly charitable to them, it certainly hasn’t been reciprocated. One of the reasons I absolutely couldn’t ever be a Protestant, though I have attended Church of England/Anglican services (living in Sydney where it has the only non-apostate diocese and is “low church”) is that Protestants absolutely hate the Virgin Mary, and I am absolutely devoted to her. Talk of her being sinless breaks my heart, and I’ve made it a point to “be in your face” with a lot of the “Catholics aren’t Christian” people on this site, as many more ignorant Protestant indoctrinated by the sects come on. I know the Orthodox also have a deep veneration of the Virgin (Theotokos) though there are some theological issues regarding Immaculate Conception and the Assumption, but as I’ve heard Rudy and others explain it, these are not huge issues but seem to be power-plays or clerical/structure issues, with the Russian Church especially. I’m praying constantly for an end to the Great Schism as Pope Francis meets with the Ecumenical Patriarch and the Orthodox Churches next year, though I know some Orthodox can be belligerent and as some Catholics have warned me in talking to them, can end up being anti-Papal and almost seeing nothing good in the Latin Church. I understand this, as a lot of the EOC does comprise former Protestants and ex-Catholics, and of the ex-Catholics a lot are the types that went through a Latin Mass phase then became disaffected being a minority in the Church. I know during Vat-II Council, the EOC plead for the RCC to not do away with the Liturgy… and it is becoming clear that this was probably a mistake since the Liturgy has been Protestantized and yet we’re seeing so much apostasy in the Protestant and Reformation countries that it seems pandering to Protestants should no longer be an issue like it was during the 60s when the UK, Germany and the USA and other Protestant countries had more Protestant followers. Protestantism and the sects spreading the prosperity gospel have lost so many people with the shallow and infantile promises, it’s saddening. I went through a televangelist phase, going as far as seeing in person Benny Hinn twice in 2 “revivals” and Joyce Meyer too. I also went to World Youth Day in 2008 when Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI came here in Sydney during that time. Compared to Europe, I know the US and Australia were not as Islamized nor as aggressively secular.. but we’ve now caught up with the Western European Socialist mindset, attacking marriage and the family. Australia’s the only English-speaking country that hasn’t got this SSM abomination… yet. The LGBT people have already started using the SCOTUS decision to ramp it up, and it will happen. I personally am drawn to Russia also because of the Vision of Our Lady of Fatima which I see as so prophetic (another reason I couldn’t ever be Protestant… the rejection of anything extra-Biblical). This is what I see happening now, with the 21 countries (virtually all Catholic or Protestant majority) having homosexual marriage, mocking the family), along with the culture of death:
“The final battle between the Lord and the reign of Satan will be about marriage and the family!”
Every time I see another country succumb to this (or those apostate Protestant “churches”… too many to list that have sanctified this evil), I just see a further return to the pagan ancient Rome/Greece, but worse considering this seems to be something the average indoctrinated person is falling for, not so much an “upper class” thing. As I always say, Western culture is sick, sick, sick. And so are the globalist institutions, not the least the UN, the European Court of Human Rights, NATO, SCOTUS and all Western courts. I could go on forever, and often visit Crisis Magazine to vent… like many Catholics, not only about the state of the Church and clergy not speaking up enough (though I know it’s so much about politics in the RCC and EOC churches.. simple Protestants don’t get, especially in the provincial backwaters of the US south, that the Pope or these figures represent the world and eg, making a statement against Muslims will affect missionaries on the ground, or being so openly anti-gay will alienate rich benefactors who contribute financially to the Church but have succumbed to the indoctrination they need to be assisted out of. It’s complicated to the individual who merely judging based on appearances, like criticizing the Pope for going into a mosque… Protestants will always say “going to Church doesn’t make you a Christian”, to which I then say things like, well the Pope going into the mosque doesn’t make him a Muslim.
I also believe the Immaculate Heart of Mary is the key to converting the Muslims with their half-baked beliefs and contradictory positions on Jesus and Mary, whom they see as BOTH being sinless (so I see Muslims as having more reverence in way than Protestants, or equally disrespecting her rather, with Protestants blaspheming her Immaculate conception and perpetually virginity and Assumption… while Muslim deny Her Son’s divinity/ being the Son of God/ the Trinity and the Virgin’s Sorrow’s witnessing He Son’s Crucifixion. I try and discuss this with Protestants but they really cannot get their head around the Virgin Mary, they have such a deep-seated hatred of her. And yet they think they can “reach” the Muslims… don’t think so, without turning to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Just as PJP2 consecrated Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1984, which ultimately led to the downfall of atheistic communism and we are, glory be to God, seeing a Renewal of Christian Russia, with news of a small birth rate and some abortion laws hopefully getting passed after they’ve been introduced. In any event, the West and Christianity in the West is probably in the most serious situation I would say due to the sickening state of the world and the results of the Sexual Revolution. I’m 32, single and unmarried… and the way society is, it appears downright dangerous or unfair to bring children into the world with all the wickedness going on and indoctrination in the schools of the most ungodly of ideas. It makes me turn around to considering the priesthood which I did consider back in the early 2000s when I was 20, c2003.
Always nice to chat to you! God bless you.

          • Hi WIlling and thanks for the reply. I think first I would counter with say I think it is an over-reach to say Protestants “hate the Virgin Mary.” I’ve honestly, in over 20 years of Protestantism, never met one Protestant who ever stated they hated the Blessed Virgin. Now I understand it could be countered that by the practice of protestants, one could conclude Protestants “hate the Virgin.” However, I don’t even know if that would be a fair assessment. I think if we are to take a sober look inside of Protestantism, we may found more of an uneducated mass of Christians either misguided or woefully under taught on many Catholic dogmas. Like I had posted earlier regarding the Muslims, I cannot, no matter what the Lumen Gentium states, accept the notion the Muslims proclaim the faith of Abraham. This cannot be because they deny Christ. How can one proclaim the faith of Abraham and deny Christ? Jesus never allowed this of the Jews. They tried saying they had Abraham as their father and he told them they had Satan as their father. This was so because while trying to cling to Abraham they were rejecting Christ. No contradiction was allowed.

My point is that I know and have met many Christians who love Christ. However, how could one love Christ and hate the Virgin that bore him? I do not believe that is so. So I think if you really asked a Protestant if they hated Mary, I do not think you would get an affirmative on that response. Now, what I think has happened, was the Protestant reaction against what they saw as “worship” of Mary, etc. These attitudes have been handed down to successive generations of protestants. Of course then you end up with, “They worship Mary” …. “We follow the bible.” I am sure you can figure out which group is which in my hypothetical. Either way, I think there needs to be some backing off of the idea that Protestants hate Mary. I think what needs to happen is that Protestants need to be properly instructed regarding the Virgin. I have found many Protestants are willing to engage and cling to historical Christianity when they are taught it. I believe once Protestants are properly taught regarding the Virgin, there would be less of the apparent vitriol regarding the topic.

I think there is either a deep seated hatred of Catholicism by Protestants or a serious lack of understanding that causes so much confusion. In fact I would say that many protestants tend to had Roman Catholicism, while having a love for Catholics. I have never met a protestant who ever hated a Catholic because they are Catholic. The protestants are having a crisis of faith right now regarding the doctrine of Grace. This is the new back and forth among protestants and they can’t seem to get their head around the grace of God and of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Again, any confrontation on the notion that the Church dispenses grace (via the sacraments) causes real consternation for a protestant. I also think there is also an unending misrepresentation on this site of the protestant “sola-scriptura”, “sola-fide” and “sola-gratia”. Honestly, I would say, that a Catholic has a deeper understanding of Luther than most protestants due. Protestant/Evangelicalism unfortunately all gets lumped in to being bedfellows. It is really the Lutherans who worship Luther in my opinion. The Presbyterians adore Luther on their road to deifying Calvin. I would say I found myself to be more of a Calvinist after 3 years of disastrous Christianity with in Pentecostalism.

I guess this brings up my other beef with RCC. What is this strange love affair of Catholicism with the Pentecostal/Charismatic movement. Everyone knows there has been an increasing acceptance of the Charismatic movement within RCC circles. When I see all this non stop bantering of protestants, Luther, Calvin in order to defend the apostolic succession of the RCC and the doctrines of papal infallibility, then I see this link of this ancient body with this relatively new invention of the charismatic movement, I personally am puzzled. You are right on about Hillsong though. I was commenting to someone recently how almost every Baptist Church, some which had very strong conservative roots, all have worship teams that sing ad nauseum Hillsong on a Sunday morning. If I’m not mistaken, Hillsong is pentecostal/charismatic. I was first exposed to them in a conservative Pentecostal church. I do know they were as far from fundamentalist and southern Baptist as one could get. You wouldn’t know that now, as almost all Baptist churches are deeply entrenched in the Hillsong culture. However, again, you look at the doctrinal differences of the Baptist and Pentecostal/Charismatics, and they are very far apart.

Well these are just some thoughts in reply. Thanks for your insight.

I know very little of these miracles in The Church, only what has been shared on this site. I have in the past attended a Catholic Church a few times however, I am not Catholic. I only use the Bible in reaching people. I have read many articles on the Shroud and the Sudarium and believe both to be authentic. But thank you for your advice.

          • Julie LaBrecque

I believe it is far more compelling to show non-believers evidence that they can examine rather than depending on words – if they refute what has been scientifically verified as being human blood, and human heart tissue, which was formerly bread and wine, then no words are going to compel them. I assume that you do not believe that Jesus meant what He said: This is My Body; This is My Blood; or that His flesh was true food and His blood true drink?

  • You are asking me “to dig deeper”?

First of all, I never said that these heads were from El Chapo. I simply showed the heads to show the type of violence is committed by the cartel. You were simply looking for anything to find and refute. Tell me, have you refuted everything that was written? No. As far as the guns coming from the U.S. its only 10%, the rest comes from Guatemala.

Try reading and researching instead of belaboring.

Mr. Shoebat, do you allow vulgar words on here/ look above all the nasty and vulgar words posted on here.

  • AnthonyM

Trump did not say what you quoted. Many main stream news organizations deliberately mis-quote him. Here is a partial quote of his statement: ‘”When Mexico sends its people, they are not sending their best. […] They are sending people that have lots of problems. They are bringing those problems to us. They are bringing drugs and they are bringing crime and their rapists, and some are good people, and I speak to border guards and they tell us what we are getting.” He could have said it better, but he is not smooth talking politician. He was referring to illegal immigrants, not those who immigrate legally.

  • AnthonyM

I also served my country in the military, and my great grandparents were legal immigrants. Your assumption seems that all Mexicans are illegal, and that is offensive, even to me. If you love America, why do you support illegal immigration?

  • AnthonyM

By “Border” I mean the official line that separates countries, like between Canada and the US. I do not assume all Mexicans are the same, your understanding is incorrect. Why do you make false accusations, what are you trying to accomplish?

  • AnthonyM

US citizens know illegal immigration is a problem, this is one reason why Trump is popular. You are saying no one is getting in w/o being checked (for what drug history, proper papers?), which is incorrect, so your assurances mean nothing.

  • AnthonyM

Yes, they ride the tops of trains, walk, etc, and make a life threatening trip because they have been told the US has open borders. And from all over Latin America, and more dangerous countries. No one knows where they come from. This country takes in more refugees and immigrants than all other countries. We have a legal system, and it should be used, so there is no need for illegal immigrants. This country has many people on unemployment, and there are not enough jobs to go around. I think they would be better off building their country into a country they would want to live in.

Jesus is alive – as all the Eucharist Miracles attest to – what once was bread has changed to flesh – HEART tissue according the scientists – and what was once wine has changed to blood, exactly as the Holy Bible records. Please explain the following miracles that prove HE IS ALIVE!! – Lanciano, Italy, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. After you explain these miracles, explain HOW the Shroud of Turin contains a 3-D IMAGE OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

  • Julie LaBrecque

Here is PROOF THAT HE LIVES and proof that the Words of Holy Writ are true:
One day in late October in the year 700 A.D., a Basilian Monk
was celebrating Mass in a church dedicated to Saints Legontian and Domitian in a town called Lanciano, which is located in southern Italy. During the consecration of the Mass, the Monk was entertaining serious doubts that the wine and unleavened bread in front of him was actually the real and substantial presence of the Body and Blood of Christ. After pronouncing the words of consecration, “This is My Body —– This is My Blood”, the Monk was shocked to see the host in front of him change into, what appeared to be, a real piece of flesh, and the wine change into what looked like real blood. Confused and frightened, the Monk called those in attendance up to the altar to see what had just happened. Needless to say, all were amazed, many tears were reportedly shed, and the news of the event quickly spread throughout the town and eventually all of Italy.
After a few days, the wine which was now blood coagulated and split into five globules of different and irregular shapes and sizes. There has been much speculation, questioning why the number five? Why did it split into five pieces? It is
interesting to note that the number five corresponds to the number of wounds Christ suffered on the Cross, the nail wounds in each hand and in each foot and the wound in Christ’s side from the centurion’s lance.
This event, which has become known as the Miracle of Lanciano, is officially recognized by the Roman Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Miracle. This host that became flesh and this wine that became blood can be viewed and
venerated even today, for it is contained in a monstrance within that same Church.
Over the years, many tests and investigations have been
conducted on these two Sacred Species. The oldest documented test results still in existence are from a test conducted in 1574.[i] In those documents an unexplainable phenomenon was discovered and reported. “The five pellets of coagulated blood are different sizes and shapes. But any combination weighs the same as the total. In other words, 1 weighs the same as 2, 2 weigh the same as 3, and 3 weigh the same as 5.”[ii]
The latest and most impressive investigation was conducted by the scientific community and it took place in 1970 and 1971.[iii] The team conducted their studies over a 15 month period and their testing involved a total of 500 different examinations. Their report was published in 1971.[iv]
The following is a summary of their report:
    1) The samples tested were absolutely free of any foreign agents normally used in the preservation of human flesh.
    2) The Flesh is real Flesh and the Blood is real Blood.
    3) The Flesh and Blood belong to the human species.
    4) The Flesh consists of the muscular tissue of the human heart.
    5) The Blood was type “AB” positive, characteristic of a man who was born and lived in the Middle East region.
    6) Even though the coagulated blood samples were of five different and irregular shapes and sizes, they all proved to be of exactly the same weight.
    7) In the Blood there were found proteins in the same normal proportions (percentage-wise) as are found in the sero-proteic
make-up of the fresh normal blood.
    8) In the Blood there were also found these minerals: chlorides, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, sodium and calcium.
    9) The preservation of the Flesh and of the Blood, which were left in their natural state for over twelve centuries and
exposed to the action of atmospheric and biological agents, remains an extraordinary phenomenon. One fact to emphasize in that report: When human blood is left unrefrigerated, the natural physical and chemical properties will break down rapidly through decay. The blood from this Lanciano miracle is over 1,250 years old, yet it still contains all the proteins, chemicals and physical properties of freshly shed blood. Yet these test results state that no preservatives of any kind could be found.

  • Julie LaBrecque

Explain how bread has changed to flesh and wine has changed to blood, just as Jesus said it would.

Christ was born in a manger…and His birth celebrated….that is in the Bible…at the Mass. We worship Him in all the event so His life. We adore Him. Just like the shepherds did in the bible…as a matter of fact, did you know the Church compiled the books of the bible to bring it to you?

  • Julie LaBrecque

I learned about the slaughters about 10 years ago when 2 (legal)immigrant families moved into our parish from Mexico – they told us about the slaughter – which is depicted in the movie “For Greater Glory”. The Vatican recently approved Father Stanley Rother as Martyr for the Faith, whom we (Oklahomans) had been praying for – he had been serving as a missionary priest in Guatemala, having received several death threats, thugs gunned him down in the Rectory in 1981.

First of all, I am not a Lemming and secondly, I can not be hiding very well if you found me!

  • Julie LaBrecque

I wondered why your response to my earlier post was oblique – your post to WTDFJ explains why. Are you hostile to men being celibate in their vocation, or just hostile to the Catholic Church? Did not Jesus teach this? Only Latin Rite priests take a vow of celibacy- Eastern Rite priests don’t. Jesus and Paul both elevated the celibate life and lived it, as did the prophet Jeremiah, having been commanded so by God. Why would you not encourage WTDFJ to enter? When Jesus prophesied that eunuchs would be so for the sake of the kingdom (Matt 19:12) should this not give you pause to re-think your post to WTDFJ? Isaiah prophesied that Eunuchs would serve as ministerial priests, and by them doing so would receive an eternal name, a name better than sons or daughters (Isaiah 57:3-8). Why are you a protestant?

  • Willing to die for Jesus

You have no idea behind my screen name and the difference between Christians and Muslims.. my screen name honors the faithful Egyptian Coptic Christians that ISIS beheaded earlier this year (like the Ethiopian Christians too and the list is endless each day, Christians being killed by ISIS and the Muslim juhadists), and how the Copts were willing to die for Jesus than convert or submit to Islam…I pray every day I am as brave as the Coptic Martyrs unlike the cowardly ISIS Muslims… and atheists just attack believers and Christians without having a clue… just like you did with me.
Please open your mind to the love and the peace that surpasses all understanding that can only be found in Jesus Christ, the son of God.. who shed His Precious Blood for all mankind…please open your mind and repent, because we will all give an account of our deeds on the Day of Judgment, God bless you as you bless Him.

  • Willing to die for Jesus

God bless you and yours immensely, thanks so much, I’m praying for you also!

  • Julie LaBrecque

St. Padre Pio, incorrupt, please explain.

  • Julie LaBrecque

Are you implying that Catholics don’t believe in God? You ought watch your slander. Bring your ‘church’s’ miracles, and I’ll bring ours. No match – yours will be KO-ed

    • These are the same who insult the atheists. Insulting and ignorant behavior is why atheist losers exist, and I don’t really blame them. If my only options were Calvinism or American Evangelical Christianity, with no history, no logic, no philosophy, and no accordance with history, I would have stayed an atheist.

      • Julie LaBrecque

So well stated. Protestantism’s creeds have led to so much chaos and confusion, which cannot be from God. So many these days, (similar to another lady I just responded to) attend no church! Do you know why? Because she has a ‘relationship with Jesus’ and has a (truncated) Bible, so she, like multitudes of others, make themselves their own church! They may as well say, ‘I love you Jesus, but I have no need for your Church.” This all falls on Protestantism and their creeds.

        • How else can one see it? People are delusional now. And this is NOT part of the Christian faith. It’s make-believe, and I see, unfortunately, why so many of the atheists idiots running around, screaming like lunatics, come from such homes.

          • Julie LaBrecque

All that Luther wrought and has come to fruition falls on his head – he divided, he produced chaos – and this is not from God but from Satan.

          • People are hard-pressed to admit an error. This is the trouble, ultimately – pride.

  • Willing to die for Jesus

God bless you, Reverend, it’s so wonderful you are serving the Lord. As Julie LaBrecque explained the Catholic Church has many Rites, the Latin Rite is the main one (hence Roman Catholic), but there are those that are in union with Rome from the Byzantine (Orthodox) Churches, they allow married male clergy, as long as the priests are already married while ordained, since those who are single and ordained cannot get married. Also interesting is the Anglican Ordinariate Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI established during his papacy allowing Episcoplians/ Church of England ministers to re-unite with Rome, many are married men with wives and children and have been given Papal approval to stay married and serve as Ministers. I personally couldn’t handle having a wife and children and having to tend a flock, I am disciplined and celibate and don’t mind celibacy, some Latin-rite priests “get around” the celibacy requirement by being ordained or switching to the Eastern-rite Churches in union with Rome…but I feel so sorry for the wives of the clergy, I’ve read many divorces occur because of the stress it brings upon the married clergy, often initiated by their wives. And then the issue of having children and ministering, being a Father in both the clerical and family sense just seems overwhelming.
I pray that your ministry is strengthened by our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His Blessed Mother, and that He continues to strengthen and bless you and your marriage and family that has blessed you so much. All Christians need to be united in prayer and support one other in these dark days in the West and the wider world attacking marriage and the family.

  • LJW

    So……you’re saying a homosexual is like a sandwich?……Huh!

  • Willing to die for Jesus

I agree with you, brother. God bless you.

  • LJW

Our brains do not stop growing until we are 25 years old and science today says some, probably most, are unable to make good decisions even at 25. I can attest to that in my own life. Were you possibly too young when you decided the Bible was just made up stories? Only, if this it is something you wish to discuss, please, tell me the circumstances of your choice, no pressure here! For if you were very young, you may wish to rethink your decision. Ask yourself if, it was a decision made in haste, or you weighed the facts and after much investigation the Bible came up on the short end and therefore you feel justified in your reasonable decision? I did not ask Jesus to be my personal savior until I was 27 years old. I was not church-ed when young. I remember twice my mother took us to church, you guessed it, it was Easter and Christmas, yet I could feel His presence there. But it was the influence of my mother each year at Christmas time when she would set out the Nativity scene. For some reason I knew Jesus was real, but I did not know how to know Him. Now, of course I realize Christmas is a pagan holiday and not actually Jesus’ birthday. It is more like September, because of the clues given in the Bible. But Christmas, was the vehicle Jesus used to get my attention and it worked. For me the investigation still goes on and becomes more clear with the facts with each verse and chapter I study, as more and more discoveries are unearthed in the Middle East that prove the Bible to be correct.. It has been an amazing journey and I would not want anyone to miss it. Ask yourself, what if I am wrong? It is an eternity question no one should leave to chance. May the LORD BLESS YOU, as HIS heart seeks to draw near.

    • Julie LaBrecque

I am shocked to see you state that Christmas is a pagan holiday, utterly shocked. Whether or not He was born on Dec 25th or not, Christmas is NOT, and never will be, a pagan holiday. The dating of the birth of Jesus has 2 options – and it depends of which of the ‘Course of Abias’ Zechariah was serving- either the first (8th week) or the second (32nd week). If Zechariah was serving the 2nd Course of Abias, the conception of John the Baptist would have occurred in late Sept, adding 9 months gives a birth-date for him in June (the Church celebrates the Feast of the Nativity of John the Baptist on June 24th), from whence we can calculate that Jesus would have been conceived in late March, add 9 months gestation has Him being born in late December – which ironically coincides with the Feast of Lights (from the Book of Maccabees, one of the 7 books removed by protestants), on the 25th of Chislev, a festival which Jesus celebrated (John 10:22-23) : He is the Light of the world – makes sense that He would appear during the darkest time of year. Documented writings that attest to Dec 25th: Theophilus, Bishop of Caesarea (AD 115-181): ‘We ought to celebrate the birthday of our Lord on what day soever the 25th of December shall happen.’ Dec 25th is also substantiated by St. Hippolytus (AD170-240). Pope Telesphorus instituted Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve, he reigned from AD 126-137.

These are the problems of the past. History just keeps repeating itself over and over and over again! Jesus has been the only constant in the world, grab HIS hand and hold tight. Welcome to reality!

  • Another cultist. Who is worse. The ignorant atheists who come here for a hit-and-run shot or fools like this who believe in their bedroom cults?

  • Peddling rubbish, like the Zeitgeist crowd. The Internet have made the youth incredibly lazy. The ‘Germanic’ Jesus of the West is a representation in art. Look at the Byzantine icons. Those were drawn by St Luke, who would have known what He looked like. We have a description of Jesus from St Polycarp, who saw Him preach. Unfortunately, you don’t bother to look at actual Church Tradition, but rely on the Internet and someone’s fairy stories. This is why atheism will always be seen as a joke.

Zane, your awaited response came through. Thank you for your
generous detailed reply. I have not read the Qur’an completely through yet. So it takes me a while to find the verses I have read that secure my belief that Allah of the Qur’an and Father GOD of the Bible as well as Isa-Jesus of the Qur’an and Yeshua-Jesus of the Bible are not the same. There are shades and shadows of likeness, however, to you Isa-Jesus is a prophet and to me Yeshua-Jesus is the Son of God. In the Qur’an, chapter 19 Section 6 verses 88-92, speaks to the Beneficent having a son, (Jesus) as an abomination. Where, in my Bible Matthew 16:16-17 Jesus acknowledges his Father. These differences are clear and I feel can not be interpreted any other way. Your Isa, stands and prays behind the Mahdi and my Jesus of the Bible sits on the right hand side of the Father, Mark 16:19. The TWO are ONE; Jesus said if you have seen me, you have seen the Father. John chapter 14, explains their relationship. I believe the Hadiths explain further that Isa-Jesus gives deference to the Mahdi. The Mahdi is the godhead not Isa-Jesus. Where as in our Bible Yeshua-Jesus is placed above all. For HE is GOD, being three in one. I must admit the Trinity is confusing for some, as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are ONE and THREE at the same time! Think of the Trinity as an egg. You have the shell, the white and the yoke all in ONE. All THREE are the Godhead, are GOD!
Even the Dome of the Rock has verses going around the top
near the ceiling stating that Allah has no son. So I assumed whether Shia or Sunni they hated Christians because we believe Jesus is the Son of GOD. It is nice to know that Shia believe there is kinship among the two, but to a Christian Jesus was not just a prophet, but THE PROPHET who bows to no one. I see this making for a big divide in the Muslim/Christian relationship.
Please, correct me if I am wrong but, I believe this portion
    is from a Hadith.
Naim Abu Said narrated that the Messenger of Allah (saas) said:
Isa ‘Ibn Maryam, will descend, and recite the daily prayer behind Mahdi. (Al-Burhan fi `Alamat al-Mahdi, p. 78) In Musannaf of Ibn Abi Shayba, Ibn Shirin narrated. He said: The Mahdi is one of this
community and will serve as imam to the Prophet ‘Isa (as). (Jalaladdin as-Suyuti, Al-Burhan fi Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir al-Zaman, Al-Muttaqi al-Hindi, p. 79) Naim ibn Hammad narrated from Abdullah ibn Amr. He said: The Mahdi is the one whom ‘Isa ibn Maryam (as) will perform the daily prayer behind. (Jalaladdin as-Suyuti, Al-Burhan fi Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir al-Zaman, Al-Muttaqi al-Hindi, p. 79) It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (saas) observed: “What will be your state when the son of Maryam descends amongst you and there is an Imam amongst you?” (Sahih Muslim, Book 001, Number 0290) Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah reported: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (saas) say: ‘One section of my people will not cease fighting for the Truth and will prevail till the Day of Resurrection. ‘Isa son of Maryam will then descend, and their (the Muslims’) commander will invite him to come and lead them in prayer, but he will say: No, some amongst you are commanders over others (amongst you). This is an honor from Allah for this Ummah.’” (Sahih Muslim, Book 001, Number 0293) While their Imam is going forward to lead the people in the Salat al-Subh (the morning prayer), ‘Isa son of Maryam will descend. The Imam will step back, to let ‘Isa lead the people in prayer, but ‘Isa will place his hand between the man’s shoulders and say, “Go forward and lead the prayer, for the Iqamah was made for you.” So the Imam will lead the people in prayer… (Ibn Majah, Kitab al-Fitan, Tradition No. 4077, 2: 1363)

Like all prophets in Islam, Jesus is considered a Muslim (i.e., one
who submits to the will of God), as he preached that his followers should adopt the “straight path” as commanded by God. Traditionally, Islam teaches the rejection of the Trinitarian Christian view that Jesus was God incarnate or the son of God. The Quran says that Jesus himself never claimed to be the Son of God, and it
furthermore indicates that Jesus will deny having ever claimed divinity at the Last Judgment, and God will vindicate him.[5]
Islamic texts forbid the association of partners with God (shirk),
emphasizing a strict notion of monotheism (tawhīd). From Wikipedia These teachings highlight the differences also.
First, Jesus claimed to be the unique Son of God. As a result, the Jewish leaders tried to kill Him because in “calling God his own Father, [Jesus was] making himself equal with God” (John 5:18 NIV). In John 8:58 Jesus went so far as to use the very words by which God revealed Himself to Moses from the burning bush (Exodus 3:14). By Hank Hanegraaff

Zane, the Jewish people will not always be blind to the truth. They will come to know Jesus as their savior in the last days. Today, by the thousands, Muslims and Jews alike have come to believe in Jesus as the only true GOD. As the Jews should have 2000 years ago. Better late than never, I always say!

Quran(8:12) “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them” This verse is happening right now so it is not reasonable a person would interpret this to mean a spiritual struggle. Our differences in whom we believe are definitely causing worldwide death and destruction.
Revelation 20:4 Then I saw thrones, and people sat upon
them—those to whom authority to judge was given. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Yeshua and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image, nor had they received his mark on the forehead or on their hand. And they came to life and reigned with the Messiah for a thousand years.
Tell me what you think, if you are busy and it takes a little time, I understand. Talk to you soon. Blessings to you!

It then limits your understanding of the One True Lord, the Giver of Life.

  • It’s hard to say anyone is pulling the strings of the Supreme Court because many of the sitting justices were around long before Obama was even really in politics. Presidents and Congressmen assess the court and judge where they will stand on issues based on the makeup of the court. Who knew Roberts would be such a turn coat. He was Bush’s marquee conservative appointee, and I think many hard core conservative thought he’d be another Warren Burger (far from it.) With the exception of Scalia and Thomas, most of the court has been melded down into political factions of convenience. Does anyone really expect any sort of scholarly legal opinions from Kagen the Pagan? Seriously. At a minimum at least Sotomayor was a justice. However, neither one of those two should be on the court. I can guarantee you Ginsburg is waiting to see who wins the next election to decide to retire. If it is a Republican, she’ll be content to let her corpse sit on the bench. If it is a lib-democrat, she’ll pull the plug because another radical will sit in her place. This is real life on the Supreme Court

  • We have no other God except God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, these three are one. Where did you say Julie or anyone else talking about worshiping another God? How can you in one breath quote the word of God and in the next breath accuse Christians of being fools who worship false gods? Do you not know that the word of God is breathed of the Spirit of God? “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” 2 Timothy 3:16. Be very careful what you say, “Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.” – Mark 3:28-29

  • I believe she said the Church gave you the bible you read. How else do you think it was handed down? Can you imagine if CNN or the History Channel was responsible for handing down Holy Scripture 2,000 years ago? We’d have no scripture. The church is important in helping us understand the scripture that you read so that we can properly interpret it in light of the history of Christianity.

    • Julie

The History Channel is into false gnostic discoveries…that are actual forgeries.

The problem with American fundamentalist/evangelicals…is that their leadership is keeping in the dark of who they are and how and where faith continued to develop after the Book of Revelation.

They have nothing beyond the Bible..no history, theology.

I just read that the Muslims were the one who started hospitals when in fact it was the Christians under their bishops in the 200’s called to go out and help the sick and dying..and without medicines. They developed as they went along. Especially after 300 when Christianity was legal and could publicly practice their faith.

      • I think what has happened in Protestant/Evangelicalism is that often times pastors look to the bible, what it says and then bring the application over to today. So there is kind of this bridge that probably skips over the history of how things develop. Most sermons, if done in the true “expository preaching fashion” will follow 1. Explanation, 2. Illustration, 3. Application. If a sermon follows that model, the pastor would explain and expound the relevant scriptures they are preaching on, provide an illustration(s) to move the message along and apply it to the audience in their everyday life. Therefore, history is only looked to in the relevant ways in which it supports or furthers the sermon.

If people want history they have to dig for it themselves. It is not necessary for people to be in the dark and I think most church goers see the bible as their history. Most would see they are in the faith that was proclaimed there. The average person would say they follow the apostolic model because they know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. They do not take on a holistic view that all the church is in the fullness of history is following the church model. I think it can best be summed up by saying that for Protestants and Evangelicals, Less is More. All the other stuff can only be a distraction. Evangelicals and Protestants are not dumb people.

I find it interesting that many of them look at RC’s and think they are dumb sheep willy nilly following the pope. Vice Versa, many RC’s see protestants as dumb sheep willy nilly following Luther and Calvin. I can tell you there are some protestant evangelicals who know nothing of either man. Likewise, there is a vast majority of Catholics who know squat about RC history. I think both camps need to start giving the other camp credit for being a bit smarter than being blind sheep being led around on a leash. Protestants and Evangelicals were taught differently about how to view history and no doubt both the RC’s and E/P’s will argue about whose version is right for another 500 years (Lord willing the earth is around that long.)

        • Julie

Totally agree with you. And I know in many Catholic parishes and dioceses…classes are offered but because of the demands of modern living, many cannot come but want to.

I am proposing in our parish right now a model of that will have spirit of the Church in home gatherings…I was told people can only study at home…please provide the materials.

What is agitating and causing more Catholics to learn are all the allegations coming at them by certain evangelical groups and atheist based charges that ours is based on paganism.

Have you come to this site? http://www.calledtocommunion.com?…it is excellent and has many articles and testimonies by former Protestant ministers and students in Divine Ministries studies…going into church history…and coming to see the Catholic Church is the true Church…but people in it…are like everyone else…we are all on different levels in our parishes…just as many opinions as members….but we hold on to one faith, one baptism.

There is a very interesting read….August 9?, 2009, Ryan, ‘Ecclesial Deists’.

Catholics are Ecclesial Deists…meaning we believe Christ is big enough God and great enough to allow His Church to be run by mortal, men of clay…

  • To thoroughly prove that point, please see your well thought out comment. Nick, some very intelligent people are on this site (and no I won’t pretend to be one of them) because I know you are dying to cut back at me. I’m sure you will anyway, but take the time to read the comments of the people here. There is a lot of thoughtful analysis from some (but not all).

  • Julie

The Church is comprised of many people of the same faith and practice passed on to us by the apostles and instituted by Christ.

A stand alone bible…interpreted by a separatist preacher with his bias…cannot give you true communion….your calling as a Christian…to enter into the life of the Holy Trinity.

The Church is the interpreter of Scripture…communion of believers…the Bible was assembled by the early Church a long time ago…and SS Peter and Paul said not only do we understand the Word in the way Christ intended but also the traditions they gave us…the structure of the Church and practice.

You follow personal interpretations of men…you absorb their bias and ‘anti’s’, you are devoid of understanding Scripture that gives you God’s life and not bias and division and with out the Shepherd, you don’t have the 7 sacraments where Christ ministers to you every day, and you don’t have the communion of saints who gave us witness in how to better live our lives heroically as Christians…and who pray for us in heaven for the preservation of our faith in the cross to the end.

  • Julie

Then you believe in yourself and your way of looking at things. I was taught to be detached, discern things, and be with others for affirmation or direction if I came to wrong conclusion.

  • Julie

That is the latest propaganda…you join the atheists.

Actually, Abraham…who was instructed by the angel to sacrifice a ram instead…of his son…this feast was the feast of Abraham, March 25, and also the Feast of Life in the Jewish calendar.

Christ was born in the Constellation of Aries the Ram..but entered this world as the Sacrificial Lamb…placed in an animal feeder.

The Church designated…in fulfilling the Law …March 25 as the Incarnation of Christ…and 9 months later…December 25…the Light born in the darkness of the world.

The Church was given the right to loosen and bind…see Peter when chosen as head.

Christmas was not celebrated as a feast until later.

But the greatest feast in the Church is not Christmas or Easter…but ordinary Sunday…because it is really Resurrection Sunday…where we encounter the fullness of the Lord the same as when He appeared 2000 years ago.

So no..there was a Roman emperor who tried to make a feast Dec 25 to get the Christians back from paganism, but they refused to return.

There were pagans who came in under Emperor Constantine after Christianity was made legal…and bishops complained they were not authentic Christians…not true converts…

If you are always looking at anti Catholic propaganda…and our country has the worst…you are not truly seeking the truth. The Church is likewise a human institution..and it is not perfect…

  • Julie

    You totally missed the point.

  • Julie

    Yes…Catholics worship the Lord…

  • Julie

You must always trust in the Lord and not man.

    ?????????????

Yes..Italy had one of the lowest cancer rates…with the people…the only cancer exploding in rates is breast cancer. I think they are starting to wise up. And their population is decreasing and Islam’s is increasing there.

  • Julie

You are so off….belieing in God and Christ is believing in practice the regeneration of humanity.
Look at the accomplishments of Christiantiy…the only humanizing force…it is the secular atheists and others who are burying the facts in cyberspace…

  • Julie

    Stupid ignorant remark.

Check out the Vatican Library who demonstrates all the works of science, art, music, the academics…all done by religious people…not to squander but to share to the world.

    You know nothing.

  • Julie

Look at your language. It reveals alot about you.

  • Julie

The Church put the Bible together.

You don’t understand the nature and mission of the Church.

  • Julie

    Again…you don’t understand.

You are mouthing the same old propaganda by false teachers. People waste alot of time being Anti Catholic when they could be drawn more closely to the Lord.

We don’t even reflect on other Christians but pray for them. Our whole being is centered on Christ and not on putting other Christians down.

  • Julie

????? That is your kind of thinking…you are projecting.

If you would simply study the ancient Jewish calendar and got some objective and documented history…you would find out there is the visible Church out there…and no different than the Jews and their salvation history.

    Conversion is a lifelong process.

  • Julie

The Pilgrims were intensely anti Catholic and to the point they even banned Christmas in England for 20 years. sigh.

True Christianity sees everyone as equals. And our conversion is a life long walk…and at Mass we never hear the Church putting down and condemning other Christians, including the Pilgrims.

    • Julie

I am reading about 4 leaders who were buried in Jamestown….and now one had a relinquirary buried with him…possibly a Catholic hiding his faith from the Protestant colonialists but working with them side by side.

  • Julie

The just man sins atleast 7 times a day…st Paul says the spirit is willing but the flesh weak….this is part of the conversion process….

  • Julie

Actually the apostolic Church is. If you reduce revelation down to text without authority…and this was also the case in Judaism..then it gets down to my interpretation vs yours…this is what Sola Scriptura is all about…like a subjective relatavist form of personal authority.

that is why I tell people to look at the Catholic Catechism…just look at the many definitions of what ‘Church’ means..as well as doctrine…it has footnotes for every single one from Scripture and many Early Church Fathers who succeeded the Apostles and so close to the events back then..and the understanding comes out universal, timeless, and life giving and brings about unity and not countless divisions.

  • LJW

anything……..Haven’t you learned anything from these pictures?

  • Ascended Sleeper

Well the Christians did that to the natives first, chopping off limbs of children and feeding them alive to dogs, smashing native babies heads against walls, raping nobles’ wives in front of them, hanging and burning men alive in sets of thirteen in honor of Jesus and his apostles, destroying the natives democratic and peaceful nature in the name of Christ. This is just repayment for what Christians already did to our ancestors as documented by Bartolomé De Las Casas, Antonio de Montesimos, the Spanish soldiers and natives who were there.

As the Bible states, the sins of the fathers will be revisited upon their young. The chickens are coming home to roost, thank you Coatlicue.
