EASTER MASSACRE IN PAKISTAN: At least 65 dead and 300 injured after a Taliban suicide bomber targeted Christians celebrating Easter in a park

By BI: The blast happened in the parking area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, Lahore, near the children’s swings, and most of the victims were women and children. Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a splinter group affiliated with the Pakistani Taliban, has claimed responsibility for the attack, adding: ‘The target was Christians.’

UK Daily Mail  Authorities have so far confirmed the deaths of 65 people at the park, where Christians had been celebrating Easter, but they expect the death toll to rise. ‘Most of the dead and injured are women and children,’ said Mustansar Feroz, police superintendent for the area in which the park is located.

Senior police official Haider Ashraf said the blast appeared to be a suicide attack, adding that ball bearings were found at the crowded park. Medical workers said the blast mainly killed women and children, while many of the wounded were in a critical condition.

Nasreen Bibi, the mother of a two-year-old injured in the attack, spoke through tears as she waited for news from the doctors. ‘We were just here to have a nice evening and enjoy the weather.  May God shower his wrath upon these attackers. What kind of people target little children in a park?’

The group responsible for the attack was founded Omar Khalid Korasani, a former Taliban senior leader who broke off from the main group to form the more-hardline organization in 2014.  He re-aligned with the main Pakistani Taliban leadership last year, and the group are currently waging war on the government, which in 2014 vowed to grant no safe haven to terrorists.

The attack happened in the heart of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif political base in Punjab. In a statement, the group said: ‘We claim responsibility for the attack on Christians as they were celebrating Easter.

‘We want to send this message to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that we have entered Lahore. He can do what he wants but he won’t be able to stop us. Our suicide bombers will continue these attacks.’ The group was previously responsible for a March 2015 bombing at a Roman Catholic church in Lahore that killed 15 people and injured 70 others.

Today, eyewitnesses said they saw body parts strewn across the parking lot once the dust had settled after the blast. ‘When the blast occurred, the flames were so high they reached above the trees and I saw bodies flying in the air,’ said Hasan Imran, 30, a resident who had gone to Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park for a walk.

The park had been particularly busy on Sunday evening due to the Easter holiday weekend, and ambulances were seen rushing to the blast scene.

God, I wish the stupid white genocide people would take note, It’s NOT white genocide morons it’s Christians, whites just happen to be more recognized in the states and European countries as Christians, Wake up, do these people look white? Dark Africans are being killed too, why? They are Christians pure and simple!!

Pakistan has among the most extreme, fanatical Muslims…how I wish the citizens would follow Bangledesh’s lead to remove Islam as the nation’s religion…

    • Indian Christian Crusader

Bangladesh court has upheld Islam as the official religion – Today’s news : – http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/03/bangladesh-court-upholds-islam-religion-state-160328112919301.html

Christians are badly treated in Bangladesh also.

Doesn’t surprise me after reading an article critical of this movement, which has not been submitted for many years only up to now, headed by secularists.

What needs to get into the public conscience is how did peaceful Islam begin in non Arabic countries?

Mother Angelica entered into joy on Easter Sunday at the age of 92. She meant so much to me. Let’s join in a prayer of thanksgiving for her life and work for the kingdom of Christ.

    • Julie LaBrecque

I just heard the news, have been crying ever since. Thanks so much for all your prayers for me, I finally turned the corner Saturday evening.

      • Grandmere

        I am rejoicing!

      • Glad to hear you finally arose from the infirmity. We were all worried about you. There will be much more crying to do in the future so preserve your strength. Blessings to you sister Julie.

      • Kkdgrace

Haven’t “seen” you around here in awhile. You’ve been in my thoughts and prayers. Glad to see you posting again.

      • Catbr

Were you sick? If so, glad to hear you’re better.

      • Kamau41

Been praying for you Sister and so glad you have turned the corner. Continue to take it easy and slowly. We missed you greatly and looking forward to your full recovery.

Mother Angelica was the best. She had not been her outspoken self for the last few years due to a number of strokes I think. It was her down to earth nature and unfailing truth that drew millions to her and ewtn and continues to do so. I hope the government backs off with their attempts to shut down ewtn for not accepting the birth control and abortion part of their health care (or whatever you want to call this). R.I.P. Mother Angelica.

Mother Mary Angelica a true GIANT WARRIOR, and VISIONARY of Christianity. A remarkable and beautiful Saint. How fitting for her to enter into joy on Easter Sunday! I linked up more about her life and the beautiful and phenomenal legacy impacting millions of souls worldwide. Her impacts will surely continue to be felt for years to come. Here is one of my favorite power packed quotes from her:
“Where most men work for degrees after their names. We work for ONE before our names: ‘St.’ It’s a much more difficult degree to attain. It takes a LIFETIME. And you don’t get your diploma until you’re dead.”

Matt, I don’t know exactly what is wrong with you, but you missed Brenda’s point entirely. Her post was perfectly understandable to anyone with a good high school grasp of English grammar and composition. Ask your mother to help you read it again.

    • Brenda

Thanks, not gonna read that persons comment. I am white but see some creepy things as of late with images of killing off other races and some funny ideas that are no better than all of the white hatred stuff.

We need each other, all races who see wrong and evil, no one race alone can really fight this monster all by themselves.

There is nothing wrong with loving your own race and all that but just look at the leaders who do share your own race who are evil and greedy, I can’t say every white person has their head on straight anymore than I can say blacks ganging up on other blacks just for having other opinions is good.

It seems to me the war is more about ideas and ideologies even when it can look like something else, look around the world it does seem to be more about Liberals, Feminist, Leftist doing all they can to stifle our voices and try to make even the sexes combine into something that is either not male and not female.. but a THING.

Creepy times were living in, I can understand where things are getting blurred, and that is dangerous, it will probably be a black man that saves you from getting shot for all you know, at least where I live we have a combo of ethnic backgrounds and I think we developed more of an ability to read each-other, I know when I shop who is safer to approach and who is not almost instinctively from exposure.

I will have white women just attack me for no reason! and then black men who are gentlemen and help me, and I see many Mexican families just being families. Maybe I am lucky where I live or maybe if I walked around with a negative attitude then I would be blinded to the good around me.

That’s not saying there isn’t the opposite going on in other places, just not around the whole entire world, I see mostly good getting attached by evil period or someone saying they are somehow good by submitting to evil.

I haven’t heard Obama or Kerry call this Christian genocide yet. Maybe they will say playground violence.

    • Catbr

Michelle Obama might hash tag this atrocity with a sad face. That should help the situation ( like when the African girls were abducted a while ago. )

      • Kkdgrace

Snicker. Good one…and so “on point”

  • Catbr

Horrible atrocity. Targeting innocent children and women. This is the embodiment of the cowardice and shameful pure Christian hatred and bigotry, by the Islamic muslims. Condolences to the family members of all the victims.

  • Kkdgrace

This is unbelievably heartbreaking. There are no words to express how I feel.

    • Sorry. I think I got the wrong face on the Capitol Hill shooter from the Facebook provided by another media source. I deleted the post. However, that guy’s eyes look weird as you stated.

      • Kkdgrace

I think there is some truth to that saying, “The eyes are the window of the soul”. I have seen too many pics of some truly evil people with what I can only call “madness” shining in their eyes. Has happened far too often to be “just a coincidence”, IMO.

        • As Theo says “Dad, your eye analysis rarely fail”. We do this every day with people he meets and I give him the “eye analysis”. Even at times when the person seems alright and they fail my eye analysis it ends up in the end that the person reveals evil and Theo always says “should have trusted your eye analysis Dad”.

          • Trevor

I hope I have not failed your eye analysis. 🙂

  • Trevor

Best ask the person, Indian Christian Crusader. He would know.

I would say most media outlets are left leaning anymore.
