Shockingly Unbelievable: Erdogan’s Referendum Victory Is Now Calling On All Turks To Worship Erdogan As “God”

By Walid Shoebat (Shoebat Special in Advance)

While Turkey decided to resurrect its Ottoman hegemony on Resurrection Sunday by giving Erdogan unlimited powers, Erdogan’s main mouthpiece Yeni Safak now declared that all must (literally) obey Erdogan as “God the Holy Spirit” and “Caliph”. And while protests erupted from the opposition rejecting the referendum, U.S. President, Donald Trump, instead of addressing the dissent called Erdogan to congratulate him. Besides Reuters, even the major Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported:

U.S. President Donald Trump called his Turkish counterpart to congratulate him on the results of a referendum that will grant the Turkish leader sweeping new powers, presidential sources in Ankara said on Monday evening.

Even the Kremlin urges everyone to respect Turkey’s referendum choice.

When decades ago we said that Turkey will produce a man who will be hailed as God and that the U.S. will initially support him, many scoffed.

But besides the many who focused on Trump as a symbol of “king Cyrus,” the reports from Turkey is much more alarming where the main media is speaking the types of blasphemies that jump right out of the pages of the Apocalypse and Daniel. With the expected victory, Yeni Safak’s journalist, Ergün Yıldırım, on Resurrection Sunday began publishing the cult of Erdogan, proclaiming  him as part and parcel of God Himself, saying that Erdogan is now ‘the Holy Spirit’ and ‘Caliph’ who needed to be trusted and obeyed while the Ottoman Turkey ‘resurrects’ from the dead. Yeni Safak is not some lunatic blogger, it is Erdogan’s AKP Party’s main mouthpiece.

So what else will spring out of the pages of the Apocalypse; Israel announcing that they will rebuild the third temple? More on that later.

In the article, Yıldırım began to redefine a new era for Islam under the newly resurrected ‘Caliphate’ dividing the societal structure in what he termed as “the subject” (the Caliph) who is “God the Holy Spirit” and literally calling him “our Lord” while “the slave” becomes the rest of the people needed to simply trust and obey their god and savior:

“We are waking up to our own fate. We are breaking free from our [western] chains. We are waking up [from the dead] to existence. We are waking up in general. In the darkest of times we hear our poet Akif saying, ‘Wake up Muslim society.’ We are rising. We are being reborn. Every birth is a scream and we are screaming too. This is our final scream. It is the scream of birth and existence. Today the nation will scream for the last time. It is the day that society will once again exist with its own fate. It is the day that we will leave the TIH Desert for the last time. It is the day we are honored with being a nation again. It is the last time we say “yes” to our Lord [Erdogan] calling out, “Aren’t I your Lord [God]?”

Its a ‘beast rising from its mortal wound’. And if you think this term “Lord” is simply said as to honor Erdogan’s status, Yeni Safak, makes no qualms and without any ambiguity calls Erdogan “God” Himself:

Nation’s just like people have destinies. Thus, God [Erdogan] addresses nations the same way that he addresses individuals in our Holy Book [the Quran]. He regards them as the subject, for example, he says, “the societies that think,” and “the society that changes itself.” The subject is the fate/destiny of the person, thus when a society is the subject, it too has a destiny. The person that is the subject is the khaliph [Caliph]. He is a piece of God’s spirit, he uses his will. He chooses good or evil. The person [the Caliph] who is the subject, is a creation that is independent. This same principle applies to societies as well. Societies have wills too and can use it in the same way. Societies that make preferences and side with the truth are independent. People that are slaves, are not subjects. This also applies for societies that become herds too.

Even the top Arab media including Turkey experts recognize what is happening. In a headline titled “Finally Erdogan succeeded in transforming Turkey into the New Ottoman Caliphate” Al-Dehi writes:

“Will NATO now be silent on Turkey? The Referendum now transforms Erdogan into a semi-god. This achievement is the formation of the Ottoman caliphate. Turkey now will will enter a dark tunnel. There is a great division within Turkish society and Erdogan’s success will make him avenge the Kurds and the nationalists. It is the end of Ataturkism and the beginning of the Erdoganian Caliphate “.

By this we now begin to understand the cult of Erdogan, which proclaimed Erdogan as a ‘creation’ and also a part and parcel of the ‘spirit of God’.

And so this confirms what we have etched for decades where some just refused to comprehend, that both the ‘deity’ and ‘humanity’ of Erdogan was what we exactly predicted will be the cult of Turkey.

Way before such proclamations, nearly a decade ago, a self-proclaimed Bible scholar named David Reagan criticized our analysis arguing that “I believe the behavior of the Antichrist described in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 [that he is God] rules out any possibility that the Antichrist might prove to be a Muslim.”

Where are these critics now? Does the Bible teach that Antichrist claims to be purely deity? If claiming to be God is the only thing Antichrist does, then we have a problem—Daniel 11:39 Antichrist “acts against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory” (Daniel 11:39) while in II Thessalonians he “proclaims himself as God“.

How could Antichrist claim to be God and then here he himself honors (worships) a god?

Both are perfectly accurate.

But it is the problem of most heretics and false-theologians like Reagan who denies the existence of hell, these take one verse while they ignore the rest.

So now we begin to understand why scripture addresses the blasphemies of the Antichrist claiming to be both essences in one, as Yeni Safak proclaimed: “The person that is the subject is the khaliph [Caliph]. He is a piece of God’s spirit, he uses his will. He chooses good or evil. The person [the Caliph] who is the subject, is a creation that is independent.”

He is “a piece of God’s spirit” and at the same time he is “a creation that is independent”.

Its the desire to be like Christ Himself and is why that date (Resurrection Sunday) was chosen.

It can’t get any clearer than this. What we have been telling you all along is coming to fruition whether Erdogan is Antichrist or someone else who comes after him is.

And the herds follow regardless how they are described as ‘slaves’:

People that are slaves, are not subjects. This also applies for societies that become herds too. Because a group of people that become herds cannot evolve into societies or nations. They are crowded and crowds don’t have wills, preferences or independence and they don’t have the opportunity to think independently. Crowds don’t have statements to make or even a voice to use. The only thing they have is noise. Therefore, a crowd is just a number. They are open to any kind of intervention or leading. They have lost the ‘society who thinks’ feature. For this reason they are crowded, and societies who become herds are modern slaves. They represent the situation of being slaves. They cannot be subjects. They can only live by the direction of their owners, bosses and power holders. A society which doesn’t ‘think’ for a long amount of time, will lose its ability to make decisions.

Such language did not stop the Turks in Germany, which has the EU’s biggest Turkish community. Yet in Germany, 63% voted “Yes” to their god and savior Erdogan, a number higher than even in Turkey (51%).

Julia Klöckner, a leading voice in Angela Merkel’s German CDU party said the door to EU accession was “well and truly shut” and called for billions of euros in contributions to finance Turkey’s bid to stop.

In other words, Merkel wants to pay billions towards Erdogan’s Muslim Jizzieh tax poll so long they ‘stop the process’. In other words, Merkel speaks with forked tongue, where she expresses that while she does not support Turkey’s resurrection, yet she does, by offering billions to the new god and Caliph aiding him further in his rise.

And when years ago, scoffers ridiculed saying that Turkey’s secularism makes it impossible to fulfill the verse “and I saw the martyrs who were beheaded …” Turkey at the time of our prediction, did not even have the death penalty, but now, after claiming victory, President Erdogan said he would review Turkey’s suspension of the death penalty. That would not only bring an end to Turkey’s faltering bid to join the EU but bring it into conflict with the Council of Europe’s aim of abolishing capital punishment.

Many asked, if Erdogan is the Antichrist, isn’t there supposed to be a 3rd Temple? After all, Apocalypse 11 makes it clear to many:

“I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers. But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”

First of all, John says nothing about Antichrist entering that temple in Apocalypse 11. The temple that is entered is in II Thessalonians which does not mention Jerusalem at all.

But what I have said so far regarding the temple is no slam-dunk proof. The real proof is when we understand the context of all these verses. People who view the verses in the Apocalypse about a temple forget that their arguments mimmic the Pharisees whom after confronting Jesus, He told them that the temple will rise up after its destruction in three days.

Christ was prophetically revealing how the lost, when He speaking apples, they speak oranges. II Thessalonians has a different construct and does not mention at all a temple in Jerusalem, while Apocalypse 11 is clearly allegoric. “Measuring” or “stretch the line” in biblical terminology does not mean an engineer measuring a blueprint. At Belshazzar’s palace, Daniel did not bring a weighing scale with him when he told Belshazzar that God had weighed him and found his kingdom wanting. In Lamentations 2:7–8a, for instance, we find:

‘The Lord has scorned his altar, disowned his sanctuary; he has delivered into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces . . . the Lord determined to lay in ruins the wall of daughter Zion; he stretched the line he did not withhold his hand from destroying’”.

2 Kgs 21:13 is of similar character:

‘I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line for Samaria, and the plummet for the house of Ahab; I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down’.

In 2 Sam 8:2 measuring has a positive outcome for some, but a negative one for others:

‘[David] measured them with a cord; he measured two lengths of cord for those who were to be put to death, and one length for those who were to be spared’.

Measuring resembles a judicial process:

‘for with the judgment that you judge you will be judged, and with the measure that you measure you will be measured’

There are many passages that use ‘measuring’ in a judicial sense. The trickster always takes advantage knowing that the Bible is eastern and God expresses His will in eastern thought. Yet he reads it in a modern western sense to sell the type of books that belong in the realm of fiction as in Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark, the Temple of Doom or the Last Crusade.

Why these books have been “Left Behind”?

But Ephesians makes it clear, the temple is “the household of God” (the church) “the building  fitly framed together as “an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the [Holy] Spirit.” (Ephesians 2:19–22)

In other words, what God marks belongs to his jurisdiction and what he does not measure ‘has been given to the heathen’ to unite with the Antichrist for 1260 days during the Great Falling Away where Muslim and schismatic unite against Rome.

The Muslims too awaits Rome’s destruction

This measuring is a time of trouble for the temple (the church). Revelation 11:1–2 relates how John takes a scroll from the angel and eats it where its first ‘sweet as honey’ in his mouth but ‘made bitter’ in his stomach. This echoes the commission of Ezekiel. (Ezekiel 2:8–3:8)

With Moses, they ate the sweet then rebelled where they ate the crushed golden calf and tasted its bitterness. They knew God and tasted His sweetness to later fall away. This is the whole crux of Revelation 11 as well as II Thessalonians. Many simply allegorize literals and literalize allegories.

When reviewing Prophecy one needs to penetrate the text and understand where the text speaks spiritually and where the text speak materially. Christ was Body (Temple) and Spirit (God). The Church (the temple of God) reflects this as well since they are physical and also spiritual.

The prophecy about God’s Temple (His church) is that it will be tested where many will fall away from the faith. The measuring instrument ‘like a staff’ this is not used to measure, but to exercise authority. In Apocalypse 2:27 Christ “shall rule them with a rod …” (see also Apocalypse 12:5 and 19:15)

This “rod” is God’s weapon to judge. The unmeasured part will be ‘rejected’ whereas the measured part will be tested through persecution. Today we must see which Christian factions are being persecuted from Copts and Armenians to Eastern Orthodox and Catholics. These are being tested heavily and where persecution is found, there is the true church.

There are clear hints to who will be tested. John mentions the temple which is well defined in Ezekiel as well as in the New Testament.

When it comes to the Temple, there is a literal as well as allegory, the tangible and the spiritual; both go together. The “altar” and the “worshipers” to refer to the different parts of the temple service that they represent which the rejected ‘unmeasured’ parts of the temple simply desecrate or do not have. The measurement (testing) pertains to the temple service in every facet. We have an area for incense and one for sacrificial offering. These are literal and are also allegory. Incense is not something the rejected do, but the Temple (true Christianity) observes in tangible ways that represent spiritual aspects of the faith. The outer court that is left out doesn’t do these since they do not believe in the literal sacrifice or in the incense as part of the service.

So this Temple pertains to measuring and dividing the participants (sheep from goat) in what we call Christendom which has obviously fallen away at that point.

It is the tangible with the spiritual. In Apocalypse 11, we also have “the two lampstands,” two customary seven-candled menorahs in apostolic succession churches lit and uplifted during Pesach at the Altar of Sacrifice. But the main focus is not on the literal lampstands only for if this is its exclusive use, how are these two lampstands then killed? These represent the two witnesses:

‘And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”

They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands.

The Two lampstands are living people.

The temple can never exclusively be a building. Christ puts the last nail in this old coffin:

“I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.” [Mark 14:58]

The old one was made by human hands and the new one made without from above.

We must always view scripture from a spiritual lens and understand its multifaceted. In essence Jerusalem is in mind, but not exclusively:

“And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified”.

“And when they [the two lampstands] shall have finished their testimony, the beast, that ascendeth out of the abyss, shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.”

Does the beast kill two literal lampstands? Indeed, he will enter churches and destroy icons, church instruments and the Communion, but he will also defile human temples (their bodies) demanding they etch a mark on the right side of their temple (right arms). This is why the text says “on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate” (Daniel 9:27). This specific abomination is not consumed but placed on the right side “the wing” of the body (the temple of God) just as Daniel 11:31 says “shoulders”. The Hebrew and the Arabic meaning of “kenaf” (wing), is side/wing/arm. One has to simply ask: what is this “wing of the temple”?

“The beast, that ascendeth out of the abyss, shall make war against them [the two witnesses]”. The beast (empire) which arose from the pit after receiving the deadly wound is the Ottoman and it rises again as the second beast “from the abyss” and the “pit”.  This beast will kill the two witnesses. Later on this beast will return into the pit including with it the Antichrist himself:

“you say, “I am a god;
I sit on the throne of a god …” (Ezekiel 28:1) “I am going to bring foreigners against you,
 the most ruthless of nations;
they will draw their swords against your beauty and wisdom
and pierce your shining splendor. They will bring you down to the pit,
and you will die a violent death
in the heart of the seas …” (Ezekiel 28:7-8) “You were in Eden,
the garden of God;
every precious stone adorned you …” (Ezekiel 28:13).

Here God addresses this claim of Antichrist proclaiming himself to be as God just as we see Erdogan proclaimed “you say, ‘I am a god’; I sit on the throne of a god” yet he and his kingdom will be brought back into the pit from where he came: “They [the most powerful nations on earth] will bring you down to the pit”.

And in that same “pit” thrown in with him are also Sudan (Cush) and North African states (Phut) Lydia (Turkey) and all Arabia and Egypt (see Ezekiel 30:5); “Cush, and Put, and Lud (Lydia/Turkey), and all Arabia, and Libya, and the people of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword.” They also include Asshur (Iraq – Syria), (see Ezekiel 32:22-23) and Elam (Iran) (see Ezekiel 32:24-25) and Meshech & Tubal (Asia minor which includes the Southern Russian Muslim states) (see Ezekiel 32:26) and the harlot (Arabia) (see Ezekiel 32:29, also see Ezekiel 25).

So when scripture says:

“Now when they (the two witnesses) have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them”.

Would this mean that they are eaten by some dinosaur since a beast is a literal animal? We all agree that a beast is the opposite of the temple.

But lampstands are also Christian entities as in the seven lampstands in Asia Minor. Today we have two apostolic succession churches. This could also be a possibility that Antichrist will start a massive killing process, forcing many to convert and take his mark.

The novice, instead of seeking ancient church tradition or examine ancient church authority, the authority that has always interpreted this Temple as ‘the Church,’ these read the verses to conclude that the sacrifices in Ezekiel’s temple (as well as John’s temple in Apocalypse 11) are literal animal sacrifices in a rebuilt Jewish Temple. Antichrist to them then stops the animal sacrifices during the Abomination of Desolation.

You will always find a handful of people who still want to follow levitical laws which include temple sacrifices

While all Christians, regardless of their denomination, conclude that God is in no need for animal sacrifices, many argue that Ezekiel is simply predicting the future when Jews erroneously practice what God made null and void.

But if this is true, the Jesus-style question is why would God Himself then support these very sacrifices:

“where the priests that approach unto the LORD shall eat the most holy things” (Ezekiel 42:13)

They “shall eat the most holy things”. God calls these sacrifices “holy” and an acceptable offering. These are tangible grain offerings depicted spiritually as sacrifice:

“there shall they lay the most holy things, and the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; for the place is holy.”

Again, God approves of this sacrificial system. This puts this whole interpretation of an animal sacrificial system in checkmate.

So what is this “meat offering” and this “sin offering” and this “trespass offering”?

God addresses “meat” and “grain” as if the two are the same sacrificial substance. The only interpretation is to heed to Christ when He broke the bread while stating : “For my flesh [meat offering] is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed” (John 6:55). This is a perpetual sacrifice:

“For as often as you shall eat this bread and drink the chalice, you shall shew the death of the Lord, until he come.” (1 Corinthians 11:26)

Keep in mind that we have two separate events. The first is the abolition of the “daily sacrifices” and then there is another event the “transgression of desolation” these are two separate events, one is regarding the Eucharist and the other is placing an abominable thing inside a holy place which we do not know where. There are no verses that says this last one will be in Jerusalem.

The latter will mark the time when Judea is invaded which is described in several passages in scripture (Ezekiel 38, Psalm 83, Zechariah 9, Zechariah 12, Zechariah 14 …)

So in other words, the Christians are persecuted first and then the Jews next. The two events (one a desecration of the host and the other a desecration of a holy place) happen simultaneously.

This is a double whammy. If it is a Muslim Antichrist he might desecrate the Host and then also enter a holy place, possibly Hagia Sophia as fulfillment or even in Jerusalem, we do not know for sure. Hagia Sophia after all was called the temple of Christ, the Word of God … and Erdogan keeps speaking of converting it back to a mosque which is not far from view.

So it is possible that if this happens, the people of Judea should flee to the mountains because they are next in line since Antichrist would have already commissioned an invasion of Jerusalem as described in Zechariah 12 and 14.

But the scoffer isolates and says sweet sounding lines which we all agree on like “nothing else should matter but Jesus”. Why then do animal sacrifices ‘matter’?

They will quickly quote verses that say that all we need to do is “repent, and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1.15).

But believing in Christ is a marriage. Imagine telling your spouse “I do not want to consummate our marriage. I do not want to have children with you. I do not want to eat your baked bread, drink your coffee or share your thoughts … I only want to praise your name”

Would you call this a marriage?

Same with salvation.

How can one gain salvation if one refuses to do what is required, baptism, confession, communion …

This is why the Bible is a puzzle where one cannot choose a piece and drop the other. It has certain pieces that if missing, the covenant is not complete.

The Antichrist stopping the ‘grain offering’ is without a doubt the Eucharist. To accept or to reject the Eucharistic sacrifice, that is the question. If one rejects the Eucharistic sacrifice, then the whole of scripture will fall apart and theology is turned upside down on its head where literals are allegoric and allegoric are literals, where the temple is a building and the temple garments are Hawaiian shirts, the sacrificial Altar then becomes a stage with drums and disco tech lights on top, and where incense become exclusively ‘the prayers of the saints’ without the substance of incense and now all who come to the altar can weep besides boxes of tissues.

The only way then for the scoffer to make his arguments is to divorce key parts of scripture. For example, Malachi 1:10-11 speaks of the new era when a Jewish temple is no more and that instead of the ancient Jewish temple, true Christians will observe a communion of bread as a ‘sacrifice’.

Malachi presents a nail in the coffin for the anti-Eucharist crowd. But these will still argue that the daily sacrifice that will be stopped, will have no alignment whatsoever with what is noted in Malachi 1:11 because there will be no gentiles at all who are permitted to be part of the Jewish sacrifice, since they will be busy trampling down the outer courts.

These types use any possible way to jimmy-rigg the text to conclude that Daniel, Revelation, Matthew 24 cannot have any association with Malachi 1:11.

It is the sort of interpretation that God changed his mind when it comes to theology, that in Malachi, God throws out the Jews and then brings in the gentiles, then later on in Apocalypse 11, God throws out the gentiles and then brings in the Jews.

The scoffer has breaks in history where God entirely throws out even the traditional church and then He brings in instead a different theology by the so-called ‘reformers’ forgetting that God emphatically declared:

And I will ask the Father: and he shall give you another Paraclete [the Holy Spirit], that he may abide with you for ever (John 14:16)

What is this “for ever”? The Holy Spirit continues from the first century onwards till the end and even for ever. No stopping. John 14:16 is not exclusively speaking to twelve disciples, but the church authority. And then in John it all becomes as clear as the sun the commission of the disciples:

Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost [the Trinity]. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.

This leaves no room for maneuvering the text. All the claims that the ‘forgiveness of sins’ was exclusively for the apostles or that the laity do not need the priests becomes nonsense, especially when we read “I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world”. This is a continual apostolic succession without doubt ’till the end’. Therefore:

“Is any one among you sick? Let him call for the elders [priests] of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.  Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” (James 5:14-17)

“And to whom you have pardoned any thing, I also. For, what I have pardoned, if I have pardoned any thing, for your sakes have I done it in the person of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 2:10).

To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ

So just as Christ forgives, Paul forgives, and just as Christ heals, Paul heals “in the person of Christ” … and here in the King James Paul even says “forgave I” just as the priest does.

So as long as you miss this point, you miss the puzzle and you miss the true sacrifice which you, my Protestant friend are NOT partaking in. Therefore, you will be left out of the Temple.

Special thanks to brothers Trevor and DeusLoVult who denounced all Protestant heresies and partook in the Holy Sacrament of the Eucharistic Communion on Easter Sunday.

  • Amen.

To add another nail in the coffin, St. Paul made clear there are 2 Jerusalem:

One is in bondage and is shackled with Mount Sinai of Arabia, that’s why John in the Apocalypse said Jerusalem was also called Sodom and Egypt (whether it is by coincidence or not, I know not, but it is why Israel has an awkward diplomatic relations with Egypt and Saudi Arabia today).

The second Jerusalem is of above and is free, and St. Paul says is “our mother.” It’s why the Blessed Virgin Mary is our mother as she is Last Eve.

Now we have Erdogan paving the way to bring back a conglomerate ancient empires together as one ugly beast: Greece, Persia, and Babylon back together with Greece (aka Turkey) as the dominat power.

The fact that reading English language Turkish paper, it is astonishing to read ancient Apocalypse language today and so many aren’t getting it.

I love the Eucharist and I intend to speak with my priest to become involved in altar ministry somehow. I don’t care if I only carry the cross I want to become part of it.

Where the Eucharist is, there is Christ, and where there is Christ, there is the Catholic Church.

    • Filip

I went on Sunday and took the Eucharist at the Orthodox Church where the ceremony was held with the blessing. Trevor, my wife is Catholic. Can we have the marriage ceremony in the Catholic church with me being Eastern Orthodox?

Also I wanted to point out something. I did not know this, until yesterday. The Orthodox church was saying as we were all praying out loud Sfanta Nascatoare de Dumnezeu

O Holy Mother of God praying for Mary’s intercession as well as the saints.

      • “Can we have the marriage ceremony in the Catholic church with me being Eastern Orthodox?”

Now there is an issue that will cross a Rabbi’s eyes.

        Wait for the Russian.

      • Стефан Евгений

Trevor, my wife is Catholic. Can we have the marriage ceremony in the Catholic church with me being Eastern Orthodox? Well this crazy Russian will answer you Yes! you can and if the priest has kasha for brains go to another. My Father was Catholic and my Mother Orthodox. They were the most in love with each other for over 60 years.

Some say yes, others are now saying no, But i thought this was telling.

” let us remember Fr. Theodore’s words on the matter: “Miracles allowed by God’s Love strengthen our weak faith, but they are not the reason for our faith. Our faith goes deeper than that. We have seen God in the flesh, we have heard Him, we have eaten with Him, and we witnessed His Crucifixion, His Death, His Resurrection and His Ascension to Heaven. The greatest miracle which is far underappreciated occurs in every Divine Liturgy, where bread and wine are transformed to the Body and Blood of Christ. Let us always be mindful of this.”

          • Raph Sebastian

Many do not realize the symbolism of the lit candles on a birthday cake and how it is tied to Holy Saturday festivities in Jerusalem.. This is…wait for it…a Catholic/Orthodox tradition!

Each Holy Saturday, the Patriarch of the Greek Orthodox Church of Jerusalem enters the Holy Sepulchre with 33 candles bunched up and awaits the Holy fire to ignite the candles.

Why 33 candles? That signifies the number of years Christ our LORD was on Earth.

Now I hope Protestants abandon this tradition of having candles on their birthday cakes because it is a Catholic/Orthodox tradition which they hate so much.

So sorry, Chef. I’ve been on the phone shooting the breeze with a Brick. Higs is grinding and Darren is chopping. We’ll kick it up a notch,

          • Darren Neufeldt

            Amazing, Thank you

          • AnthonyM

            Thanks, very interesting.
Catholic and Orthodox — what John Paul II called “both lungs” of Christianity.
Almost like the two lamp stands.

          • “Almost like the two lamp stands.”

I have a suspicion it is.

        • Grandmere

And don’t forget our newbie, 23. I warned him and Paul that the captain would be watching.

    • “I love the Eucharist”

Thats it I am turning you to the authorities.

      • Oh good! Now I can suffer and be found worthy to enter Christ’s kingdom!

    • Grandmere

Crucifer. I like that idea. Thurifer. I love that idea.

      • Crucifer? Is that the one who carries the cross during procession?

        • Grandmere

Yes it is. And the thurifer carries the incense.

          • Ah! I was wondering if you were speaking in tongues here.

          • Grandmere

            To a Baptist, I was!

          • Well, I’m a baptist no more! I’m on my way to become Anglican Catholic! I can’t wait for August to get here and be confirmed.

          • Grandmere

I’m not talking about YOU being Baptist, bro. I was referring generically about the prots who stop by.

          • 😀

Grand, I was giving you a hard time. LOL.

          • Grandmere

I know it, Trevor. You may be a brat, but you’re MY brat. Do you think there is a Baptist here that will get my “play on words”? The mad Russian will chuckle.

          • 🙂

          • Стефан Евгений

брат is b.r.a.t and we trill the R, and I did get it . 😉

          • Prepare for an incoming. More astonishing prophecy being fulfilled. More like a Moab missile.

          • I’m all ears. I have been driving for the last 4 hours.

          • Grandmere

You are Catholic now. At confirmation you will receive your power. I can hardly wait to see what will happen to you then.

          • I can’t wait either! It’s so exciting!

          • mspip

a question, an anglican catholic?? thought they were all roman catholic?

          • Anglican did separate from Rome but never abandoned their Catholicism even under King Henry VIII.

Anglican Catholics were formed in 1977 as a reaction to the worldly leanings The Episcopal Church were teaching. Another Orthodox Anglican movement, Global Anglican Future Conference, of which Grandmere is part of, is also trying to re-establish ties with Rome and is being hindered by the pro-sodomite Archbishop Justin Welby of the Church of England.

My feeling is the ACC and GAFCON will eventually come in communion and will come in communion with Rome. Pope Benedict recognized the desire for Anglicans to be part of Roman rites and paved the way for Anglicans to be Catholics while maintaining their Anglican liturgy. It’s called Ordinariate. To the best of my knowledge, the ACC isn’t an Ordinariate.

That, however, does not ignore the fact that Anglicans holds to the same seven Sacraments as Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox does.

          • Стефан Евгений

It goes back to the Oxford Movement in 1833.

          • AnthonyM

Out Church has initiated a whole congregation of Anglicans into the Catholic Church a few years ago, and there is a special Anglican RIte. I’m not sure how long the separate Anglican Rite will continue, as I believe it will eventually transition to the Roman Catholic Rite.

          • AnthonyM

Confirmation is important. The sacrament of Confirmation gives us a special grace and a special power.

          • Grandmere

You see. Gracie agrees with me.

    • jami

      Congratulations Trevor

      • Thank you. Good to hear from you.

        • jami

And when will you receive Confirmation. Proud of you Trevor

          • In August. I’m not sure the exact date. Thanks.

          • jami

            Awesome, stay Blessed.

    • Chet

“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” Matthew 18:20, Holy Bible. This verse must be especially comforting to those who are forced to worship in secret, i.e., basements and living rooms of private homes…

  • Kamau41

A double whammy piece. Everything is coming together as expected/ predicted, while the scoffers have been left far behind!

    • Is there any more converts that you have not told me about 41? I see Darren above was most likely sitting next to you while you were rowing the last 3 years.

      • Kkdgrace

“Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”
        ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9:37-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

      • Grandmere

Don’t forget Stav 23. He and Paul (Deus) are the newest and youngest rowers.

      • Kamau41

Who knows Chef. They just keep on coming.

        • Thats great 41. Time to abandon the clinic and focus on the ship.

          • I am with 41 now!

            What’s happening?!

          • Actually I was not planning for a war.

I was testing the both of you.

I wanted to take you two on the ship for a fishing expedition.

            Throw the nets.

Yes I know you have been fishing for a while and caught nothing.

Throw the nets. Yes, right here.

Get ready to pull the net.

You are now fishers of men.

          • Ooooh.

            Right here?

            *tosses the net*

          • Kamau41

YES SIR. ALL HANDS ON DECK!!

  • Darren Neufeldt

Congratulations Trevor and DeusLoVult, I too am a new partaker of the Eucharist this Easter.

It is this very reason the last few days I have been absent from here as I rested and participated in the form that I was supposed to do. It was tough towards the end, I wasn’t sure my body could stand much more but through the grace of God I managed to stand through it all and kneel when needed. In the end I came home so broken and in pain that my wife (God Bless her) had to help me into bed. I can still smell the oil that was used when I lay on my pillow. I have to say, I love the smell.

Now as for the end of the article, what can I say…. It’s for the very reasons listed that I found home.

God Bless you all and Happy Easter (I know, a little late but it’s the best I can do).

    • DeusLoVult

Congratulations to you too, Mr. Neufeldt. The oil is indeed wonderful. I refused to wipe it off until I absolutely had to. God bless you, sir. It’s great to be home.

      • Ahhh and there is the second Amigo talking to the third Amigo.

        • DeusLoVult

I reckon it takes three to watch the sky for falling Gringos, sir. 😉

      • Darren Neufeldt

        Thank you

      • Стефан Евгений

Congratulations DLV, If I may ask, what did you do with what you wiped the Holy chrism off? it should have been wraped in paper and burned, then the ashes burried where it wont be walked on.

        • DeusLoVult

I used a towel, which I still have, of course. Burned? I didn’t know that….

          • Стефан Евгений

I use a cotton ball to take off the oil after the vespers (we don’t want it gowing down the sewer) service, I wrap it in paper and burn it . keep the towel but only use it for holy things. Modern priests are lax.
What a Muslim and an Orthodox can teach Catholics about Reverence.

          • Grandmere

We burn and bury also in the Anglican Church.

          • Стефан Евгений

That is the catholic thing to do.

          • DeusLoVult

I have a few more weeks of RCIA. I’ll ask tonight.

        • DeusLoVult

Are you sure that’s not just to dispose of unused oils?

          • Стефан Евгений

            I’m sure.

      • Ozibarb

congratulations to you, as well as to , trevor and 41.

        • Grandmere

41 is an old timer. It is 23 (Stav) who is new to the church.

          • Ozibarb

I pressed the wrong reply . Sorry to 41 and congrats to 23.

    • You too? Pretty soon we will have Catholics fall down from the sky:

      • Darren Neufeldt

Yup, me too. There were 18 of us that had first communion, 2 of which were freshly baptized on Holy Saturday night, so we were almost falling from the rafters there were so many, is that close enough?

        • That is good news brother Darren. Be strong and know that the path to this will not be easy. We could not have picked a worse time than this when the great falling away is near.

        • AnthonyM

          Congratulations Darren !

          • Darren Neufeldt

            Thank you Anthony

    • Kamau41

Such wonderful news. Congratulations to you too and now you are officially home.

      • Darren Neufeldt

        Thank you Kamau41

    • Стефан Евгений

Easter, is not over with, you are not late!

      • Darren Neufeldt

Thank you Стефан Евгений, I forgot that Easter wasn’t over when I commented. Boy do I need to get off of Pregabalin, works but the side effects can be nasty.

        • Стефан Евгений

The Eucharist will heal you, it did me.

          • Doc

Tell us about it. We want to know the story.

          • Стефан Евгений

I was haveing oral surgery his hand slipped. After 2 weeks I could not take the pain. I went to confession after vespers and partook of the holy mysteries the pain was totaly gone. I did this twice and my jaw stoped hurting each time, never bothered me after.
Also my mood and mobility improves too.

        • Стефан Евгений

          call me Eugene or Evgenii.

          • Darren Neufeldt

Will do if I remember lol. I’m terrible at names even without the drugs.

          • Стефан Евгений

            Me too 🙂

          • Grandmere

You can just call him Brat. He’ll answer to that. LOL

          • Darren Neufeldt

    • AWESOME! Way to go!

      • Darren Neufeldt

        Thank you Trevor

    • Julie LaBrecque

      Wonderful news! Congratulations.

      • Darren Neufeldt

        Thank you Julie

    • “I have to say, I love the smell.”

I love the smell of incense. We had it on Palm Sunday and when I went to confession on Friday, the smell lingered that it was the first thing that hit me when I walked through the door. On Easter Sunday, we had another around of incense.

It was like having a small glimpse of heaven where the angel “gathered the incense, which are the prayers of the saints,” offered them up to the throne of God before hurling the censer of incense to signal the judgement of God had begun.

    • Grandmere

The sufferings that you endure are not worthy to be compared to the glory that awaits. We are praying for you Darren.

      • Darren Neufeldt

Thank you Grandmere, it means a lot.

      • Darren Neufeldt

I have an update for you Grandmere, and for all the Shoebat family.

I went to the Doctor today and it looks like I will be having another back surgery. I have a disc that is bulging in the L3-L4 of my spine that is pinching the nerve going to the left leg and starting to do the same on the right leg. I have no idea when I see the surgeon, but knowing the Healthcare system where I live the surgery should happen within the year going by previous experiences. This will make my 6th back surgery to date for those that are wanting to know.

        So, yeah, fun times ahead.

        • Grandmere

Wow. I hope they can use a laser. My back has actually been doing better. Now it is my dang right hip going “snap, crackle pop”. I have good and bad days. Sometimes I have to take medication that makes me feel like a zombie, so I know what that’s like and , like you, I hate it. Julie L. called me yesterday and she could tell, right off the bat, that I was on medication. I will pray that your surgery takes place very soon. XO

          • Darren Neufeldt

Thank you Grandmere, sorry to hear about your hip. I’ll be praying for you to get better.

          • jami

Will keep you and Darren in Prayer. In Jesus Mighty name , may all your pain vanish .

          • Grandmere

I know you stand in good with the Lord. Thanks for remembering me.

        • jami

I will keep you in my Prayer. God has you brother

          • Darren Neufeldt

            Thank you jami

    • jami

      Congratulations Darren

      • Darren Neufeldt

        Thank you Jami

  • Kevin Nicholson

“Indeed, no one ever hated his own body, but he nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church. For we are members of His body. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, but I am speaking about Christ and the church.…”
    Ephesians 5:29-32

Thus the one true church “shares in the Godhead” by partaking of the literal body and blood of our Redeemer born of a woman.

“Then the angel told me to write, “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”
    Revelation 19:9

May we all have a setting – even if it’s at the kid’s table….

  • Its because Twilight, that these nations were never thrown into the pit collectively and Ezekiel 28 clearly alludes to this man as an angelic cherub the most beautiful cherub which is Lucifer. How can one explain this from a historic perspective is impossible. Its like Isaiah 28 which scholars do not know what to do with since it speaks of Arabia as Babylon. There is much more to explain this, but this is a summary.

  • Rjk

“But believing in Christ is a marriage. Imagine telling your spouse “I do not want to consummate our marriage. I do not want to have children with you. I do not want to eat your baked bread, drink your coffee or share your thoughts … I only want to praise your name”
Would you call this a marriage?
    Same with salvation.

Walid may I have you permission to post this beautiful analogy anywhere I see fit. Great eye opening article as usual.

    • Of course Rjk. The idea is to have simple comparisons. Its simple logic that Christ gave us.

  • Dan

This is why the text says “on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate” (Daniel 9:27). This specific abomination is not consumed but placed on the right side “the wing” of the body (the temple of God) just as Daniel 11:31 says “shoulders”. The Hebrew and the Arabic meaning of “kenaf” (wing), is side/wing/arm. One has to simply ask: what is this “wing of the temple”?

First off Walid thank you for this I appreciate it. However, I’m not seeing what you’re seeing in fact how did you come up with this right side wing of the body(temple of God)

Are you referring to Daniel 11:31 And the arms shall stand on his part and they shall pollute the sanctuary? If not I’m not finding this in Daniel 9:27 so what am I missing?
Also don’t forget Chittim was possibly a Roman army but it’s not apparent and ambiguous at best who the army is.

    • Sit here while I go over there and pray. My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch.

My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me.

    • Dan,

There are a few facets on this abomination.A temple is the body of the Christian is it not? I gave one of them. There still could be an abomination in a literal place as well.

There are more than one explanation when God speaks.

  • Dan

It can’t get any clearer than this. What we have been telling you all along is coming to fruition whether Erdogan is Antichrist or someone else who comes after him is.

Walid, are you saying Erdogan may not be the antichrist here?

    • Yes. He may not. He still needs to fulfill more if he is. We must never rush.

      • Kamau41

        Always great words of wisdom.

  • Dan

While all Christians, regardless of their denomination, conclude that God is in no need for animal sacrifices, many argue that Ezekiel is simply predicting the future when Jews erroneously practice what God made null and void.

But if this is true, the Jesus-style question is why would God Himself then support these very sacrifices:

Walid, the Jew’s still believe they need a temple and a Messiah so the above isn’t part of the equation because the Jew’s still believe they are under the law.

    • You didn’t get it Dan. Even that I spent 16 (not 12) hours to make it so clear. You have asked for a mile and I gave you 16 miles.

What must I do? Tell me?

Get on my camel’s back and drive to you so that I reason the scriptures?

I will send you my servant. He will explain everything to you. My camel is tired.

    • “Walid, the Jew’s still believe they need a temple and a Messiah so the above isn’t part of the equation because the Jew’s still believe they are under the law.”

Good grief Dan. We all know what the Jews believe. We are speaking on what God declared about this temple. Will God honor animal sacrifices?

Is Ezekiel speaking about Animal sacrifices?
If so, do you believe God will honor animal sacrifices?

If Yes, how then do you answer, God is done with animal sacrifices?

      • Dan

Walid, I understand what you’re saying and you’re making a good point there.
So, the question is is the temple in Ezekiel and the the temple in Daniel one and the same?

I have to admit you’ve got me thinking about that one Walid and the only thing I’ve come up with is the dimensions of the temple in Ezekiel appear not to match the area of the DOTRock.

        • Exactly Dan.

“So, the question is is the temple in Ezekiel and the the temple in Daniel one and the same?”

Yes and No. Daniel’s prophecies are multi-facetted for they deal with BOTH Jesus comings. Ezekiel’s pertains to the new era of the New Testament.

Someday I will do a whole study on it.

But glad that you kept bugging me because I always finally capitulate to anyone who knocks on a door multiple times and get going.

          So keep on bugging 🙂

    • Tom_mcewen

Why did God turn the Scarlet thread white if he did not accept the animal sacrifice for the people of Israel and why did the Talmud report the Scarlet thread not turn white in the forty years from the crucifixion of Christ to the destruction of the temple.

    • Doc

I believe the Jews will indeed at least attempt to build a revived temple and it may in fact exist during the end times. But so what? We know that our Redeemer liveth and if the Jews want to rebuild the temple it will have zero zilch nada to do with anything.

      • Dan

Thanks for the post Doc. if the Jews want to rebuild the temple it will have zero zilch nada to do with anything.

That’s what I thought but do you believe the temple in Ezekiel is the same temple in revelation ? Walid pointed this out to me and I’ve had never considered it.

        • Doc

It’s possible. I do not know everythng. I look at this as an unassembled puzzle. You can have faith in God that all the pieces are there and that all of them have one and only one place where they will fit, but until He assembles enough of them that you can see what the picture is supposed to be, you must continue to watch and pray faithfully that the truth will be revealed to you.

  • So glad JG that you met a good priest. I am happy for you. Just keep us posted on your walk. Welcome home. This Easter has been a blessing.

    • Julie LaBrecque

      Another one??????

      • Yes. And there was another one last night. They are coming in droves. Keep up the good work Julie The Brick.

  • Kkdgrace

Thank you for this. I read the article supplied by Trevor’s and DV’s link yesterday. Thanks for picking through the content and placing it all in context.
I always learn so much here- never fails. From you AND your “contributors”- those who write so many of the great articles, as well as those who supply so much information through some really great comments. Truly a remarkable “team”.

    • Cuzick

Well said. As the Church is meant to be.

    • What amazes me is that you read my writing knowing my spelling and grammar problems, yet you forgive.

What do you think of the video below the article with Pope Pius XII.

I love him very much. My favorite Pope.

      • “What amazes me is that you read my writing knowing my spelling and grammar problems, yet you forgive.”

Trust me, your spelling and grammar are fine. I have seen worse and have helped proof read some deaf people’s writings.

      • Kkdgrace

“Holy God, Holy Almighty, Holy Immortal, Have Mercy on Us”. Such a chilling (moving as well) video. Seems we are in a “Lather, rinse, and repeat” cycle….with a chance (an all too PROBABLE chance) that the horrible events of the past will be revisited upon us in the near future. Nothing like a video to really help “cement” the magnitude of atrocities inflicted on innocents in the not-too-distant past……and knowing that the near future is likely to bring us yet even more. Without the “visuals” before us, we can become too prone to a certain level of “numbness”, especially when it comes to the descent of man to increasingly lower levels of depravity……as well as the actual horrors visited upon mankind, as a direct result of such depravity. Looks as if we need another such as Pope Pius XII in place, to provide spiritual guidance essential to helping see us through undoubtedly tough times ahead.
Holy God, Holy Almighty, Holy Immortal…HAVE MERCY ON US.

        • Grandmere

Be not dismayed. Poland, who has suffered so much, has enthroned Jesus as their king. Look at the crowds! The prayers and hymns are so beautiful.

          • Kkdgrace

Grandmere, that link was TOO cool!!

          • Grandmere

I’m embarrassed. Here is THE LINK.

          • Kkdgrace

Instead of writing “SNAP”, you could post that video link: a MEGA SNAP!!

          • Kkdgrace

That was so beautiful about Poland. Makes me sad in a way too…..thinking how VERY far away we- as a country- are from something such as this occurring.

          • There were mouse traps mixed with cheese all over the place. In my Falafel Wok. All over the Pita Bread and even the customers got hit with mouse traps.

What in the world were you doing all day long setting up all these mouse traps and tennis balls?

I told you we only have one rat gnawing on the bean sacks and another that fell in the firer the other day which I yanked out.

          • Grandmere

Please forgive me, Chef. I messed up. Please see the New link above that I sent to replace the first. I know you will forgive me when you see the correct link.

          • I did see the new link. The previous one was FUNNY. It look like a Grand demonstration.

  • susan

“So just as Christ forgives, Paul forgives, and just as Christ heals, Paul heals “in the person of Christ” … and here in the King James Paul even says “forgave I” just as the priest does.

So as long as you miss this point, you miss the puzzle and you miss the true sacrifice which you, my Protestant friend are NOT partaking in. Therefore, you will be left out of the Temple.”

Happy Easter Walid, Maria and Theodore. :D. I’ll have to track down my dear brothers DeusLoVult and Trevor and congratulate them too! What a priceless gift it is to have Jesus within our temples. 😀

    • Grandmere

Susan has clocked in for her shift. Hopefully we will not have too many in need of medication today.

      • A few weeks ago she vanished and all hell broke loose. No haldol. No jackets. No beds. It was a disaster here without a nurse.

    • Exactly Susan,

As long as the person misses the “corporate” responsibility, they miss everything. The Church structure is corporate. The whole of scripture speaks in this mode from Adam’s sin all the way to Revelations where saints are working collectively as a “Body of Christ”.

This is exactly what every grasshopper removes and then selects only certain verses and deceives the unwary.

You got it Susan. Never forget this.

      • susan

I’ll memorize it. Did you know there was a released concentration camp survivor who never missed an opportunity to memorize scriptures? She continued memorizing until the day she died. She knew there would come a day when Christians and Jews would once again be persecuted. She wanted to be ready. Come what may.

    • Happy easter to you too Susan. Good to see you back tending the patients. It was hectic here with you, Grand, The Brick and Trevor fasting.

      • Стефан Евгений

Christ is Risen! Brother, this is the face of Holy Rus.

There will be a terrible revolution in Russia…But the Lord will have mercy on Russia and will lead her through sufferings to great glory.
Prophecy of St Seraphim of Sarov.

The Lord will restore Russia and it will become great once more and be the strongest bastion in the world for the future struggle with Antichrist himself and all his hordes.
        St Seraphim of Sofia.

We shall soon see if Erdogan is the AC,or he comes after.
The guys in the Kremlin, will learn a lession the hard way with Turkey. 9 Times in Russia’s history she had war with Turky and lost twice, and one of those was with the West coming to Turky’s aid.

        Thank you, Walid. :-).

    • Doc

This is a wonderful promise. Do you see it? The Lord has given us His very power in our hands. We have the power to heal, to take authority over the physical world, and more importantly to act in His stead. This is not a mere religion. This is the very authority of the Living God granted to his children. One day everyone will see that the parable of the talents has to do with doing the Lord’s work with the Lord’s Power.

      • susan

It is truly unfathomable the merciful goodness of God to His little children. He brings us refreshing rain on a hot sunny day. Happy belated Easter Doc. I’m going to attempt to make my rounds today. 😀

    • Kamau41

There is Susan. Hope you are having a very Blessed Easter.

      • susan

Thank you Kamau 41. It’s been a wonderful Easter with so many joining the Catholic Church. It is also a terrible time because of the falling away… I dread the coming years. I fear grief and revulsion shall overtake my heart. But enough of that. Happy belated Easter to you and yours! 😀

  • Wait just a minute.

This is not in the Bible:

“To those of you who claim to be followers of Yeshua, but worship in the Roman Universalism spirit. Do not be deceived. Catholicism is NOT Christianity. It is a different Gospel. One who claims to be a follower of Yeshua must worship in spirit and in truth. The catholic doctrine is not the truth. The Scriptures are the truth. God-breathed. I pray that you will repent and follow the true Gospel.”

I do not find the above in the Bible. Where did it come from? Which chapter and which verses?

“By grace through faith in Yeshua alone are we saved, so that no man can boast.”

This is in the Bible and I am a Catholic and I believe this.

So I don’t know where you got that other jargon from.

“Please understand that I say this from a place of love.”

Love???? If you had so much love, you would quote the scripture.

Also, you do not know how to spell the name of the Messiah. It is not Yeshua.

You swallowed the bait, hook line and sinker. You do not know that the use of Yeshua as a name for the Savior is an evolved pronunciation that came from English speaking Messianic followers who miserably failed to properly pronounce Hebrew. First of all, the ending in the name Yeshua (what you write as “ua” or “oowah”) is an American attempt that mispronounce the last Hebrew letter in the name. The last letter is aiyn (ע), a rough, guttural sound not found in Greek or English.

Millions of poor souls are duping themselves. They do not even realize that the Hebrew letter aiyn does not even exist in English and is never pronounced with the “oowah” sounding. In the ancient Hebrew world the letter aiyn just as the Semitic letters Khaf and Cheit are extremely difficult for westerners to pronounce.

Most people (including even western Jews) only pronounce the Hebrew letter ayin as a glottal stop if at all, but when ayin is pronounced properly in some Hebrew accents (i.e. Mizrachi, Sephardic) the consonant is pronounced equally no matter where it occurs in the word. In ancient Hebrew it was indeed pronounced more “heavily” while modern Hebrew has slowly rejected this pronunciation (because they simply could not do it) and evolved when the European immigrants who revived Hebrew used sounds they knew from German or Russian, so they didn’t vocalize the Hebrew letter aiyn since they too, like the English speaking world could not do it.

Originally the aiyn was pronounced more like the other Semitic languages. In fact all cases of Hebrew phonemes ended up as allophones which wasn’t the case in ancient Hebrew. Ask most Jews and they will tell you that a lot of these traditions of Hebrew pronunciation are disappearing or have already disappeared because most Jews now learn and use modern Israeli pronunciation even in religious contexts.

Another fact is the predominance of Arabic as the spoken language that influenced and helped preserve the sound of ayin among Mizrahi Jews who correctly insist that it is European influence that resulted in its loss.

While everything I wrote so far about pronouncing Yeshua is an issue of semantics and nothing more, the question then is: why then object on semantics when English speaking folk say “Jesus” while the Messianic persist on the wrong pronunciation Ya-shu-whaa? The “oowah” sound is nothing like the sound of “aiyn” just as much as the sound of “Je” is unlike the sound of “Ya”.

Why all this hair-splitting gymnastics when even in the Septuagint and other Greek-language Jewish texts, such as the writings of Josephus and Philo of Alexandria use the Greek Ἰησοῦς Iēsoûs which was the standard Koine Greek form used to translate both of the Hebrew names: Yehoshua and Yeshua?

Greek Ἰησοῦς or Iēsoûs is also used to represent the name of Joshua son of Nun in the New Testament passages Acts 7:45 and Hebrews 4:8. (It was even used in the Septuagint to translate the name Hoshea in one of the three verses where this referred to Joshua the son of Nun—Deut. 32:44.) So if the Almighty cared so much about how we pronounce a name, why is it that two of these men (Joshua the son of Nun and Joshua the High Priest) are mentioned in other books of the Hebrew Bible where they are instead called Yehoshua?

So to use Yehoshua, Yeshua or the Aramaic Eashoa’ M’sheekha or the Arabic Yesu‘ or the Spanish Jesus which is pronounced Hesus or the English Jesus … is all the same to God who never once said that the “saved” can only enter through the gate of “proper pronunciation”.

So why do you write in English and act as if you know Hebrew? You don’t. Stop it. You are not saved because you know how to pronounce the name. You are saved because you believe and you must also OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS AND DO THEM.

    • Tom_mcewen

Where in the bible does the apostles claim they are followers of a guy named Yeshua? Chapter and verse as you like to say. By the way chapter and verse was popularized by the Catholic Gutenberg because they didn’t use page numbers so it kept the printers from skipping a page while type setting when they were printing the first 13 editions of the bible in German, 62 years before Luther.

      • Darren Neufeldt

“By the way chapter and verse was popularized by the Catholic Gutenberg

Cool, didn’t know that. Thanks Tom.

Very interesting. I did not know about the pronunciation controversy.

      • Стефан Евгений

We get converts like that all the time. they are “better” Orthodx than us dirty Slavs.

    • Стефан Евгений

This kind of b.s is from the same people who put their bible on the floor, or if they converts, holy icons.
I droped the little gospel on the floor when I was with Baba, at the Icon corner. Well, she slaped me and told me to pick it up and kiss it,and put it back on the stand.

With such patience I am not sure if I want to debate you at all since it is usually the rookie fighters off the street who think themselves so good that they belabor too fast to only get their hides kicked in the first second and then they get carried away by a stretcher.

A rookie is easily recognized for he speaks from his impulses.

A wise fighter knows not to fight a rookie because he is merciful and patient with the simple minded.

Are there any others in the Catholic faith who agree with your general approach to end times analysis? I think your explanation of the temple is a reasonable one, but we won’t know for sure prophesy means to excludes another type of temple.

  • Great finally someone quoting “scripture alone” and added no explanations.

Thank you for truly following what you believe.

Next time, please do not add the words “Walid Shoebat” at the beginning of your comment for these are not in scripture.

    Minor correction.

    Have a nice day.

    • Tom_mcewen

What bothers me the most is they quote some scripture that is important to them and believe we automatically will be able to read their minds and know the context and background on why that scripture is more important then any other. We are not mind readers, explain Why? There are 47955 different interpretations by your fellow protestants. Which is right, explain why you are right?

    • Grandmere

      Uh oh. I’ll call Susan.

  • Wait, I’m confused…where and who is blaspheming the Holy Spirit?

    • Don’t nudge him Trevor, he is the only one who jotted scripture and only scripture without an opinion.

Now the locusts will come out of the abyss:

      Watch till the end

    • richinnameonly

Obviously we missed something, or “Walter” did.

    • Grace Ziem

Erdogan and his cronies are the ones I see doing that. Interesting observation, but if he is the antichrist, he’s doomed for the lake of fire, and Satan knows scripture.

  • I know why you mean. Its my favorite. I had to create my own Youtube called Shoebattube. You can find it here:

  • Tom_mcewen

Do you understand the concept of Post ex Facto reasoning? The bible of 1611 cannot claim the bible of 397AD is not bibical to a bible written 13 hundred years later by those so removed from the events and the understanding of those witnessed the crucifixion and taught the Apostolic Fathers what they had seen and heard, and more importantly what they learned, that people 13 hundred years later have no place in the discussion or has no right to interpet events and actions they have no part of. This is post ex posto reasoning. And type of reasoning is foolish and dangerous.

  • Tom_mcewen

    Are you serious?

  • Tom_mcewen

As most who know me I am not a verse quoting monkey, I am made in the image of God therefore rational and can reason. But the first thing I thought was Acts 12:22-23 This is the voice of a God, not a man…And Herod died and the worms ate him.

  • Doc

I don’t see how in the world you could say he is twisting scripture. And if you disagree with his words, why don’t you post reasons why he is wrong and let the public see your wisdom? Because you prefer to let the devil lead you to attack him rather than search and find the truth yourself. Perhaps he is wrong,, perhaps not, but his arguments are well-reasoned and can be supported scripturally. How about yours? Perhaps your arguments are thin and you are unable to dispute him, so you react angrily like a child who has just found out Santa Claus isn’t who you thought he was. Perhaps you react with anger because you know he is correct and can’t bear to admit it.

At any rate, the man has presented a cogent argument and you (and we) owe it to him to respond respectfully to his work rather than waxing indignant. Now go back to your scripture and come up with ten reasons why he is wrong and come back and post them, okay?

Meanwhile, those of us who earnestly seek the truth will take his words and look for wisdom from the Lord rather than posting a hollow rebuke that offers nothing more than “you’re wrong and I’d love to show you.” Fine. Show us.

    • Raph Sebastian

So many want their 15 minutes of fame. It seems like the person you are replying to just wants face time with Walid. I suspect anyone who comes to one’s blog and then poses a challenge for a debate when clearly the comment section is open and Walid has always responded to posts directed at him. Funny how the locusts as Walid said seem to come out from the depths.

  • Doc

I’m with you: I don’t know what to believe much of the time either. But I do know this: Jesus is my Savior.

  • AnthonyM

Great article, again. Excellent points. Hopefully our wayward brothers and sisters will follow the trail of bread crumbs back to full communion with the Catholic Church.

However, I understood the bit ‘Julia Klöckner … said the door to EU accession was “well and truly shut” and called for billions of euros in contributions to finance Turkey’s bid to stop.” to mean she has called for Germany to stop assisting and spending money to help Turkey enter the EU, not that they were going to pay money to Turkey to withdraw. This probably does include the money spent to have Turkey restrict the number and filter out the bad immigrants. Not sure on this point, though.

Nice ‘shout out’ to Trevor and DLV, congratulations to you both!

We’ll get you an apron and a skillet. And, yes. You can wear your cool sunglasses.

          • What are you training the new recruits to do? Sun glasses?

Thank you Grandmere. You are always so helpful. No one would know who I was without my sunglasses. LOL God’s blessings

The Greek text is the standard the text not the Latin in the Catholic Church not the code Vaticanus even with that is closer to the Greek bible then the text Receptus used in the translation of the protestant bible. The Text Receptus is not accepted by any apostolic Church and definitely not by any apostolic Greek church. The bible existed from 397AD and Jerome is a translation, there for is not the bible but a translation, subject to errors of translation. Tyndale was not killed for his translation but for claiming in Europe that Henry VII claim to the throne through his mother was not sound, he was the son of a widowed mother who by her second marriage was no longer in the line of succession so Henry VIII was not the true solvereign. Plus under the crown all documents must pass through the royal censors and after being authorized by the crown and the fee paid can it be printed, he did neither, it was treason not the bible. The Catholic Church funded Gutenberg’s printing press and his first contract was to print 13 editions of the Catholic bible 62 years before Luther. The bible was first partial written in the 8th century in England by a English bishop. It was not bibles but bibles of heresy like the King James Bible that was not approved. The proof they say is in the pudding and Protestantism is dead in England, Germany Belgium France Holland, Sweden all of Western Europe. That is the fate of all heresies. Don’t give up you can support Islam another protestant heresy and fight for the destruction of Western civilization as you protestants did before at Lepanto in 1571AD and Vienna in 1683AD and as you did under communism here. Romans 13 2 and 30 pieces of silver was your price.

  • I have challenged him before. He retreated.

  • Joyce,

You need to understand the differences between Sufi Islam and Wahhabi Islam. Google “Shoebat” and “Sufi” and read about a hundred articles and you will understand. As debating Reagan, ask him, he would not dare do it.

  • I guess my wife was right. I used to bicker about all the negative comments and she told me that there are many who read this blog who do not comment much but they absorb the teaching. Your previous comments where months ago and we did not know you that well. And then here you are. Amazing. Thanks for the great report.

  • Here is the list of Luther’s 95 Thesis, for anyone who has never seen these before. The protest was against the emphasis that the Vatican placed on indulgences among other items of questionable rules:

    • I could nail 195 thesis currently at the Vatican and I would be right. But does that mean start a schism and from that ten thousand more schisms??

Heck, I could nail 100,000 thesis at Geneva and Luther’s grave as well about Luther.

      • Grandmere

This could be “The SNAP heard round the world”.

      • Grace Ziem

The church rejected Luther. Luther didn’t “resign” or voluntarily leave the church. Some people have been excommunicated for reasons of faith; eg., for critique of burning people alive. The church/pope isn’t perfect in the view of all good Christians; I regret to see this website repeatedly used to condemn all non-Catholic Christians. This divides us, which must please Satan greatly.

My sister had an “incurable” cancer, with over 100 metastatic lesions covering the liver and abdominal cavity. Evangelical Christians prayed around her hospital bed frequently. The tumors ALL went away, 30 years ago and she is still tumor free. I have personally known other protestants similarly blessed by God.

Only God knows everything, and when a human thinks they are infallible, serious mistakes can be made. Please don’t use your gift to be so divisive of the body of Christ.

        • “Some people have been excommunicated for reasons of faith; eg., for critique of burning people alive.”

I Critique the Catholic Church too for not burning Luther.

          • Grace Ziem

I’m hoping this comment on Luther was kidding, that you don’t believe the church should burn alive it’s critics. In these very serious times, we need to have mutual discussions to best discern the truth. This also brings people to the site. I sometimes feel one has to be Catholic/Orthodox to be respected there, and this is unfortunate. It limits outreach.

Paul always remembered he had been Saul, a persecutor of Christians. He remained humble all his life knowing that, despite having been personally chosen by Christ. How can we not be humble when we see Paul, all the apostles, and even Christ Himself showing humility?

  • jami

What is the difference between Catholics and Orthodox church. I had been to a Greek Orthodox Church on Easter , there was a lot of chanting and bread was given and wine with a spoon. And my friend says , she cannot go to Catholic Churches as she muse see those huge frames of Jesus and Mary.

  • jami

    Congratulations JG

  • jami

What do you exactly mean Vijay. Are you confused ?

  • Grandmere

    Congratulations, JG.

  • David,

I suggest that anytime you read nonsense like this at WND that you do your own research first. The Temple Mount Institute which has been roasting a lamb every year (they don’t even roast it right) declaring that the temple should be rebuilt are nothing more than a handful of people. They get two thousand hits on Google because the crazies here talk about them.

But what they NEVER tell you is that the interpretation of this handful of people is completely rejected by the bulk majority of Orthodox Jews.

This handful of people interpret build their entire theology behind their the,ple idea based on a misinterpretation of Rambam (Maimonides) as saying that “Jews should attempt to build the Temple themselves”. This opinion, however is met with complete opposition.

Even the Temple Institute themselves recognize this major dilemma. It is not universally accepted by nearly all Maimonides scholars.

For example, one major seventeenth-century Rabbi Yom Tov Lipman Heller in his commentary on the tractate Yoma, the Rambam did not say that any Jew can build the future Temple, only the Messiah. According to Maimonides “any Jew who starts rebuilding the Temple is the Messiah”.

But the Messiah, even according to you has ALREADY built His Temple: the Church.

This, including the Jewish view, completely debunks this whole idea.

  • Just amazing. I nearly had to skip three to 4 inches to get at the jest of your complaint. Very annoying.

Where is the refutation to my comment about how the Jews interpret the Temple and how these folks are but a handful of people? Yet you wasted my time and your with this?

We know that they made a false testimony you dolt; for Christ at that point did not say he would destroy the temple, he only said, he would raise up the temple in three days, that which they should destroy. We know that this testimony these witnesses would suggest, that Christ had a design upon their temple to demolish it, and that he must be a sorcerer, or a magician, to pretend to build a temple without hands in three days time. That was the part that was slanderous. Every commentator agrees with that.

The result of Jesus’ death is the end of the Jewish temple, foreshadowed in the ripping of the veil.

    We all agree.

What you needed to prove is it’s rebuilding. You didn’t. You simply gave a general praise for the ones who interpret it as such.

Why are you telling me about Randal Price? I know who Randal Price is, sat with him and he could not refute a simple question: when did the Romans defeat the Persians? His whole Roman premise fell. The dolt went to Turkey, praised the Quran as a reference to discover Noah’s Ark. He was bamboozled by some Chinese guy telling him he found Noah’s Ark. As it turned out, Price fell for the scam and over a hundred thousand was cleaned from investor’s monies. So please.

The apocalyptic discourse in Mark begins with a prediction of the destruction of the temple in 13:2, which is mirrored in the passion, specifically, in the charges regarding the destruction of the temple (Mark 14:58; Mark 15:29) and the temple veil being torn symbolizing its coming ruin (Mark 15:38).

Mark 14:58 relates key element of Jesus’ trial:

“Some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying, ‘We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands.’”

Although Mark describes the testimony as false, in his style, he presents the accusers as stumbling in to a profound truth.

In fact, the charge is later repeated at the cross with mockers, which clearly Mark would have affirm as true when it comes to the Temple’s destruction. Matthew, John and Acts contain similar reports (Matt 26:61; 27:39; John 2:19; Acts 6:14). Numerous scholars explained this, the falsity of the testimony has something to do with the charge that Jesus claimed he himself would destroy the temple.

Yet when it comes to debunking my article you write “There’s a bit more questionable interpretive elements in your article too Mr. Shoebat … but I have no desire to take the time to spell-all-this-out on your blog”

Why not? You haven’t refuted anything since the issue I brought up regarding Ezekiel’s temple includes the Jesus-style questions you are unable to refute. In your wildest dream.
The Jesus-style question is why would God Himself then support these very sacrifices:
“where the priests that approach unto the LORD shall eat the most holy things” (Ezekiel 42:13)
They “shall eat the most holy things”. God calls these sacrifices “holy” and an acceptable offering. These are tangible grain offerings depicted spiritually as sacrifice:
“there shall they lay the most holy things, and the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; for the place is holy.”
Again, God approves of this sacrificial system.

How come you keep missing this?

    A) God approves of re-instituting animal sacrifices?
    B) God does not approve of animal sacrfcies?
    C) This is speaking of a different type of sacrifice?

The answer has eternal consequences regarding your obedience to Christ. So answer wisely.

If you reply, please do not make yourself wise by the multitude of your words attempting to sound like some scholar. Talk directly.

And next time you do not answer questions, I will have to put you on complete ignore.

And please don’t complain about me not being nice. Okay?

    • Cuzick

” And please don’t complain about me not being nice. Okay? ”

Word History Five hundred years ago, when nice was first used in English, it meant “foolish or stupid.” This is not as surprising as it may seem, since it came through early French from the Latin nescius, meaning “ignorant.”

Isn’t that considered a compliment when someone says ” your not nice “.

      • Grandmere

Uh oh. Every Saturday morning for decades I’ve been saying ” Play nice with the other boys” when Papa is heading out to play golf. From now on I’ll be encouraging him to beat the snot out of them.

        • Cuzick

      • Wise analogy Cuzick.

  • If you can’t answer the challenge, just change the subject and allude that the verses you mention here pertain to me.

    Very telling.

  • Raph Sebastian

Oh boy…satire and sarcasm is lost on you obviously. Regulars on here have inside jokes, be a regular, come share at the table, falafels and hummus are always the standard fare. Be good and we would have bread and wine together too.

  • Dan

The place where the antichrist defiles will be a physical structure but the question is where will this will be?
This is something Walid has opened my eyes to.
The sacrifices in the temple found in Ezekiel are pleasing to God however in the temple in Daniel the sacrifices cannot possibly be pleasing to God. One possibility is the meaning in Daniel is not an actual temple and could possibly be a house of worship.
I’ve always believed we need a Jewish temple to coincide with the antichrist and in this case maybe we don’t.

    • “I’ve always believed we need a Jewish temple to coincide with the antichrist and in this case maybe we don’t.”

Piece by piece and soon you will partake in the Eucharist Dan.

I’ve always told you to be careful of hanging around them Palestinians lurking around selling you falafel. We are patient. Very patient.

  • Dan

Yes, but we still have the problem with the sacrifices Pam.

    • The stale falafel are taking effect already 🙂

      • Dan

I still haven’t found enough time in my schedule to really see if I understand this issue of the temple to be something I believe, but I will.

  • Wish you could explain yourself further. Example: “I’m willing to see allegory with regard to 2_Thess ,Rev 11 but not Matt24 which does seem to point to a real temple in Jerusalem ”

In 24, Christ is done with temple buildings and scripture promises a different temple.

Why then revert to a temple building?

That is the statement worthy of repeating over and over again to those that come here to slander and call Catholic and Orthodox Christians, not Christians. May you be blessed for your fair-mindedness..

  • Raph Sebastian

Yes Catholicism is a cult. THE CULT OF JESUS. Whereas you and whatever denomination you belong to follow the cult of Luther and his contemporaries of current times.

Protestantism is a dangerous and is the work and fruit of the devil, no greater deception is there than those that willingly follow untruth and claim it as truth and happily damn themselves. 40000+ denominations are all the handiwork of satan, what satan could not do, charlatan pastors got their cue from the likes of Luther, Zwingli, Calvin right down to their current contemporaries, all proclaiming to be inspired by God or by the Holy Spirit when they all differ in their core values, when cllearly they allow divorce, homosexual marriages, adultery, abortion, contraception etc etc etc which makes the Holy Spirit seem schizophrenic. Come out of Protestantism and its sects and cults.

The only thing all 40000 protestant denominations and derivatives agree is that they hate the Church that Jesus founded.

This is what the US and EU applauded:

    “Has Turkey’s referendum emboldened hate?”
