By Theodore Shoebat

The government of Egypt has sentenced Muhammad Morsi to death. Recently, Shoebat.com reported the Egypt gave Mursi only a twenty year sentence. But it turns out that Egypt changed its mind and rightfully gave him the death penalty. According to one report:

The former Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi has been sentenced to death by a court in Egypt on Saturday.

Morsi was given the death sentence for passing state secrets for mass prison break that took place in 2011.

According to the court ruling, the sentencing of Morsi will be referred to the Grand Mufti for cofirmation along with 105 others sentenced to death.

Morsi was earlier sentenced to 20 years in jail for ordering the arrest and torture of protesters while he was serving as the president of Egypt.

He was accused of devisive policies by the Egyptians who staged days of mass street protests demanding his removal.

The Egyptian authorities have banned his Muslim Brotherhood movement and arrested thousands of his supporters since he was deposed by the military in July 2013.

We’ll see if the US will get involved to save Morsi, since he was the dominant figure of the Islamic revolution that America acted as a catalyst for. Turkey will most definitely get involved to free Mursi.
