The massacre committed by ISIS Muslims who slaughtered Ethiopian Christians in Libya, caused a wave of anger amongst Christians and also Muslims who called for justice. It was very moving to watch the Ethiopia scene with the massive numbers who erupted in solidarity with the families of the Christian martyrs who gave their lives for the cause of Christ. The protesters wanted justice for the beheadings and shooting showed in a video released on Sunday by ISIS. The Ethiopian victims are widely believed to have been captured in Libya while trying to reach Europe. Christian Ethiopians are angered at the massacre when ISIS produced a video, in which ISIS called Christians “crusaders” and subtitled the horrific event as “worshippers of the cross belonging to the hostile Ethiopian Church.”
The scene with priests carrying crosses and demonstrators as far as your eye can see (estimated more than 100,000) Ethiopians is something to remember.
Ahaza Kassaye, the mother of one of the victims identified as Eyasu Yikunoamlak, told The Associated Press during the protest Wednesday that she was overwhelmed by the massive turnout.
“I’m happy now. I’m very happy. I was just mourning the death of my son with family members and my neighbors. I never expected this to happen,” she said.
Ahaza, who had to seek shelter in a cafe when the protest turned violent, said she hoped the government would react to the killings by closing all illegal border crossings and arresting suspected human traffickers.
Some violence also erupted as the demonstration also expressed the government’s failure to raise living standards of the poor hurt by poverty fueling the flow of migrants through unsecured areas in North Africa.
But what is definite and what is becoming obvious from the events the world is witnessing in the Middle East, is that there is a divide between two: Muslims who are questioning all the violence standing alongside the followers of God who take the Mark of God and the followers of the spirit of Antichrist who proudly take the mark of Islam.
It is obvious, there are folks who claim the religion of Islam and they too weep for the blood of Christian saints. One very moving video I found was of a Muslim girl who weeps for the Christians massacred:
She bravely gave her name and sent her message to ISIS: “You are animals, you are criminals, you are not of the sons of Adam, but the sons of satan. May God burn you in hellfire … who are you to judge between Muslim and Christian. Only God is the ultimate judge”.
Righteous words indeed. It amazes me to see that the blood of the saints is opening the eyes of many Muslims to begin to question and ask, why? These days, I see what I have never seen before, in Egypt Muslims burning several Islamic books that calls for violence. True love can only come from the Light of Christ. Few pay attention that in the Bible God rescues a remnant of the Muslim world:
And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. (Zechariah 14:16)
These at one point were followers of the spirit of Antichrist. Why else did they come against Jerusalem? The text is clear “of all the nations which came against Jerusalem”.
The day will come when Muslims will seek God and see that Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life. Pray for the Muslims in Ethiopia to take the Mark of God.
