A search team working for the Nigerian government entered the town of Damasak, and what they discovered was truly a sight of horror: four hundred corpses — men, women, and children — all brutally murdered by the Islamic terrorist gang, Boko Haram.

The town of Damasak was a little bit before this discovery liberated by Nigerian and Chadian forces who have been driving Boko Haram from Nigerian territory. In every area that Boko Haram has taken over, they have ruled it with a reign of terror. They set up check points where they stop people and make them recite the Islamic creed (“There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger”), and if they cannot recite it correctly, they kill them immediately. The end result of Sharia is illustrated by the discovery of four hundred corpses. Damasak local government spokesman Babagana Mustapha said:

We found hundreds of dead bodies in shallow graves and on the streets of Damasak during our visit … Those bodies in shallow graves have badly decomposed while those found on the streets were desiccated from [exposure to] dry ‎winds

Abubakar Kyari, a senator-elect for the region, said:

The staggering number of dead bodies found in Damasak is a testimony of the large-scale atrocity Boko Haram committed when they were in control of the town

Idris Karimbe, one of the volunteers who partook in the burial of the bodies, said:

We collected over 400 corpses from the streets and in shallow graves during our visit in Damasak

One local resident, Musa Bremah, recounted:

The number of bodies we recovered this time around far exceeded the ones found last month

Musa was referring to a discovery of ninety bodies that were found outside of Damasak last month.
