When did we ever imagine that the day will come that a doctor giving you a lethal substance is now going to be considered a form of healthcare. When did we ever imagine that in North America the assisted-suicide landscape will change in a profound and historic way, especially when on Friday Canada’s Senate approved that nation’s new physician-assisted-suicide law. There are millions of Christians who want to live and flee from suicide bombers in the Muslim world and then there are people in the West who want to commit suicide.
What have we come to? The Book of Proverbs was prophetic: “All who hate me love death” (Proverbs 8:36).
The law may be broadened in years to come. Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould argued it was an overreach, saying it could be applied to people with “any serious medical condition, whether it be a soldier with PTSD, a young person with a spinal cord injury, or a survivor whose memory is haunted with memories of sexual abuse.”
When did we ever imagine that we will live in a time where law makers and health takers will encourage suicide? As noted by Alex Schadenberg of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, the law allows anybody to cause a person’s death by as long as “natural death is reasonably foreseeable.”
We all (100% of us) know that “natural death is reasonably foreseeable”!
It allows death by lethal injestion from a tiny bottle that looks like orange juice and within five minutes you go to hell thinking that you entered peace. It is done quickly as long as the opinion of the doctor or nurse practitioner meets legal criteria and they cannot be prosecuted if it is later discovered their opinion was incorrect.
The Catholic Conference of Canadian Bishops condemned the legislation calling it “an affront to human dignity, an erosion of human solidarity and a danger to all vulnerable persons.”
So now suicide by lethal injection is legal in Canada, Washington, Oregon and Vermont. California’s state legislature approved assisted suicide and they are waiting for it to be finalized.
Belgium, which enacted its euthanasia law in 2002, is seen as taking one of the most liberal approaches, which has led to some rather strange stories. In 2013, the Belgian euthanasia so-called physician Wim Distelmans euthanized a forty-four-year-old transgender man, Nathan Verhelst, because Verhelst was devastated by the failure of his sex-change surgeries; he said that he felt like a monster when he looked in the mirror.
While some might think ‘good riddance’ other cases are lamentable and present some heart-wrenching stories. One woman who was euthanized because of Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) while another woman who was euthanized was for depression after a long-term relationship break-up, and another woman who was euthanized after being sexually exploited by her psychiatrist and developing anorexia nervosa. Why not euthanize all these nutty-psychiatrists?
The dilemma is even becoming as nutty as the law-makers themselves. Canada’s dilemma is how to stop people crossing the border to end their lives represents a tricky issue. If ISIS only presented lethal injection and charged for it many westerners will be flying over to Raqqa.
Even in some EU states, they are effectively serving as lab rats and people are being allowed to end their lives for an increasingly broader array of reasons. One Belgian man who wants to end his life because, he says, he can’t live with his pedophilia; the first step of his application was approved. As the BBC noted, “There were 1,807 confirmed cases of euthanasia in 2013, the most recent year for which figures are available.” Instead of repenting from sin and the desire for suicide, now the suffering and dying can be legally dispatched by lethal injection or a glass of liquid poison. Here, see how its done:
For us to call on punishing criminals, pedophiles, sodomites, terrorists and all sorts of reprobates with the death penalty by execution we get accused with homophobia and they demand we be executed, but state-sanctioned killing for the elderly and the sick is a commendable God given right? Go figure.
I cannot fathom how the world is upside down. I just got done with a phone call with a Syrian Christian begging us to help his family to escape Syria. They want to live. Rescue Christians took their case instantly and will secure their arrival into Canada. Yet Canada was the worst place I have went to during my travels. I would get arrested as soon as I got there and thrown back into the plane back to the U.S. But my stubborness did not stop me. I resorted to smuggling myself and entered despite their laws and got on their media giving my messages and smuggled back out. The Canadian government hated us and we knew why. In Canada owning a gun is tough and healthcare is an absolute nightmare.
The issue of assisted killing is the same issue of abortion where all the strict regulations would stop the Christians from fighting back. Canada banned pro-life candidates from running in 2015. Now with assisted suicide Canada is on par with Belgium and the Netherlands where thousands upon thousands sick or not are put to death every year.
Pretty soon, the Islamophobes and the homophobes will be put to death and the Christian will regret calling us names for wanting to legalize the death of the evil reprobates. Throughout history, the Bible records countless incidents where life was about preserving God’s laws and where the devil is bent on breaking such laws and killing the faithful through tyranny. The naive never get it until it is too late.
According to a 2015 poll, it shows that roughly 70% of Catholics either strongly or moderately support euthanasia. The West has entered a frightening world in which two thousand years based on Christian morality have been rejected. The church is filled with fakes and frauds.
It is as if the Good Samaritan is no longer praised for helping the wounded man on the way to Jericho but is instead praised for slitting his wrist in the name of ‘ending suffering’.
To all hypocrites who say we have too many people, why not start off with yourselves?
The issue is not population growth, illnesses and poverty. The real issue is to kill Christianity and is why we believe that the West is heading towards internal unrest, revolution and turmoil. It is only a matter of time.
I lay my head on the pillow every night weeping at the changes I see. It is unbearable. Yet I still love life. Life is not worth living? It is. What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” (Romans 8:31-36)
